The evidence of a Zeke decline

Derrick Henry and Zeke are going in opposite directions. And that’s not all because of OL.
The difference between Zeke and Henry is 4.4 miles. One spends his offseason in Uptown drinking, chasing women, starting fights. The other spends his offseason a few miles south at the SandersFit Performance Center working out like a mad man.

Derrick Henry spends every offseason in South Dallas training at the SandersFit center while our 100M baby recovers from hangovers every night.

Dude has absolutely no burst. His vision is not up to par it seems also. Last night he had a nice hole up the middle and there was a clear lane to the sideline. Zeke put his head down and cut back directly at the incoming safety! Honestly, Pollard looks better

Aria is a little baby, who bags on Zeke for everything under the sun because he doesn't like him personally. He's a clown, and Zeke fumbling doesn't change that.
Zeke is the clown. Got suspended for something he should have been thrown in jail for. Then he repays the Cowboys by bullying a security guard and holding out in Cabo. Zeke is bad. No team would give us a bag of balls for him.

Dude was a guy who struck gold in 2016 behind a GOAT line. As the line fell apart so did his stats. Yet, he got paid as if he was a difference maker. But in reality he's now a plodder who can get a yard or two if there is a guy in his face. No care to avoid contact or make a guy miss. We got a poor mans 33 year old Jerome Bettis with a younger Tiki Barber hands.
:clap:I kept telling people his success was more of a result of the O line than anything he does individually. His stats have always proven that which is why he has historically been mostly average to below average in yards after contact, yards after catch, broken tackles, elusiveness, etc.

But nope, I was told the O line had nothing to do with it, he and Barkley were playing on an equal field. Now he’s getting a taste of what Barkley and other RB’s have been tasting for years.

Doesn’t taste good ewok, does it? You don’t look so hot now, do you Mr. Respect Me?

Wanna try believing Kellen Moore has something to do with this too?

Don’t forget about pulling up a girls shirt in public while being investigated for DV against a WOMAN and then knocking out a DJ in Dallas after being suspended for domestic violence. Then he tried to fight another DJ in Vegas, had to be restrained by teammates and was permanently banned from the club.

None of this was his fault of course, just a victim.

I want the Zeke stans to personally apologize to my boy Aria. The good news is the Giants are going to give Barkley more money then Zeke this offseason.
what is a "stan"?
The only thing this post is missing is you spelling boy as boi.

The age and IQ level of the board may be dropping again today.

Or, you're one of those "Zeke did it" guys who knows more than...the entire legal system. Ok.

I’ve been a big Zeke fan since his draft but I was NOT a fan of caving to his ridiculous holdout and Jerry caved because he thought last season was the one. Looks even more ridic now. It’s not that he’s not still good, but clearly not the burst he once had and our OL cratered. The big lesson from this is that your window to win is very small....we wasted it.

The decline began as soon as he inked his deal. He has so much cash now that nobody can make him do anything. Thats a problem for a football player not dedicated to his craft. Zeke was an off field buffoon long before his decline. Should have been obvious to our FO.

The numbers don’t lie. Ezekiel Elliott is showing multiple signs of a decline in the performance most people assumed wouldn’t happen until for at least 2-3 more seasons before declining. He’s only 25, but he has a ton of touches on his tire treads. It’s hard not to wonder if he will never again have that magnetic playmaking ability he had at the beginning of career.

When Zeke hit the scene in 2016, he showed an incredible combination of power, speed and playmaking ability. Behind that once great OL, Zeke was clearly the best RB in the league from 2016-18. But the last two seasons, his burst and ability to break a big run has dropped precipitously.

Here is some of the stat evidence:
  • Yards per carry- 2016: 5.1, 2017: 4.1, 2018: 4.7, 2019: 4.5, 2019: 4.1
  • Yards per game- 2016: 108, 2017: 98, 2018: 95, 2018: 95, 2019: 85, 2020: 69
  • Yards after contact: only have numbers since 2018 but he has finished 4th, 6th and 7th the last 3 seasons in yards after contact.
And the fumbles....Omg...Zeke has the most fumbles of any RB since he came in the league- specifically 22 fumbles since he came in the league, but he’s had 14 fumbles in just the last two seasons, losing 7. And you can’t say it’s because he has more touches. Because Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey, and Joe Mixon have comparable touches, but have much fewer fumbles. Henry and McCaffrey have had 5 fumbles each, while Joe Mixon has only had one fumble the last two years!

I believe Zeke still has talent and can be a big contributor. But it is no longer in doubt, he has not what he used to be. And with this makeshift OL in front of him now, he is almost on his own.

And he has a big contract.
To me...the most damning indictment of Zeke's fall is that both my 11 year old son and I both got excited when the 3rd string RB ran a couple last night. He looked twice as fast as Zeke....

Exactly. The dominance of the OL thru the 2016 can not be understated. Zeke is a very good RB, don't get me wrong, but he benefitted from playing behind a young, powerful and athletic OL in its prime. As the OL has aged and declined so has his production. It's noticeable. He's been revealed as a very good power back. No juice to threaten the perimeter or do any real damage on the 2nd level. Does Zeke have any 30+ yard runs since 2016? I cant remember any.

He looked fresh to start the year and then it's been **** since we started getting blown out.

I think Zeke can still be the best but his quitting attitude is keeping him from that.

Zeke has talent but his career IMO has been a disappointment. You can't look back at all those fumbles and say he's been an elite back. Elite talent maybe, but not elite performances.

Elite dbag for sure.
