I like how our line has evolved these past 2 years, of course you have the solid, yet unspectacular Flozell Adams starting at LT, Kosier was a great, and unheralded pickup, as he's the best pulling lineman we have, and him and Flozell made-up a pretty, good left-side of the line, then Gurode is coming off a career year, and seems to have the C position down, his combination of size and athleticsm must be hell for opposing DTs, just ask Albert Haynesworth, we just signed the mammouth Leonard Davis, who's starting position seems to be RG, his girth and Boeing 747 wingspan will be a great assest over there, I can just imagine this giant running up the field at RG, blowing people up, and rounding out the line is returning, 16-game starter, Marc Colombo, who did pretty, darn well as the starting RT in his 1st game action in nearly 3 years, only surrendering 4.5 sacks, and is without a doubt, our line's enforcer, our Erik Williams if you will

looking down the line, we have a good mix, 2 330lb OTs, a 325lb C, a 375lb RG, and 305lb LG, and only 1 new starter among the whole group, RG Leonard Davis, continuity is huge in the NFL, ask the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts, the 2 best lines in the league, and more particularly, look at the Colt's line, it only possesses 1 player who was a former 1st round pick

I like the looks of this line, the 1st time I could say that in awhile

Which of those numbers does not seem to fit.

I like Kosier, but I'd love to have another 330-pound mauler. Maybe we can draft one at some point to challenge for the spot. ... We'll probably looking for a versatile G/C type.

if we want a left-side of the line that can pull, which I think Dallas still wants to employ, I see no reason to get a mauler

It won't matter how big the o-line is if they can't move in space.... I hope they'll work on that.

Tate is gone.
Roaf is gone.
Black is gone.
Shields will be gone.
They were so desperate they signed Turley last year. He washed out.
Trust me the locals are pushing the panic on the team up here especially the line. LJ himself is even worried about the decline of the line and is starting to make public comments about his inability to produce huge yardage and TD numbers in the future. It's not the same line as the last few years at all. Not even close. Gonzalez was pissed early last year when the coaches made him stay inline and do more blocking. I wouldn't trade our line for theirs at all.

to me this line is polar opposites of what the Colts run... Jerry is going back to the old days of big boddies and intimidation and not a moment too soon!!! He has cut BP boys like EJ Whitley and Fabini and didnt blink an eye with Columbo and would have let him walk too... Kosier is next on the chopping block and will be lucky to be on this team in the next 18 months!

Back in the old days Jerry could sign a Derrick Kennard and people would still call it the greatest line ever!!!

Go with what u know!!!

I'll have to agree about Kosier, something just doesn't look right, they need a guy like Ben Grubbs over there, a nasty mean streakish guy...

Just because a guy is a mauler doesn't mean he can't pull.

I'd rather have guards more limited than Kosier at pulling who can blow defenders off the line and open holes that way for the running backs.

if we can find a large OG who can pull, then I'm all for it, just not exactly rushing to replace Kosier

our left-side of the line had no problems opening rushing lanes

Plus we have a QB that can move with the best of them. That hasn't happened since Roger(or was it kevin sweeney?) ;)

I like it a lot....

Depth now becomes the issue with this line. If the young guys are ready we will have an OL that is solid and has depth. That's the kind of thing that can get you to a super bowl.

The Hotel goes at about 335-340; Gurode at about 315; Colombo at 320 (but he might add some more); Davis is at around 360-370 (depending on who or what he ate lately); Kosier is at around 305- he might be a little more.

are you serious?

Whitley was cut because of his knee injury. Fabini is simply not needed with Colombo back and McQuistan in the wings, not to mention the flexibility of moving Davis to RT if need be.

I don't care what size he is, why would you cut a productive, relatively young OL?

If he's not on the team in 18 months, it'll only be because we've drafted well at OL and his contract is up. Given our history in that area, I'm not holding my breath.

numbers dont matter, a few years ago we have mammouth linemen that didnt do squat..
Flozell - will be gone after this year...especially with the big money he will get...his knee may not make it through the year also...then davis goes to LT?????????????? that will be fun

Kosier is average
gurode is a one year wonder
Davis will be good at guard this year but what about next at LT?
columbo? another one year wonder...average at best line

In your opinion which happens to be a very minority one.
The Hotel is a top 10 LT.
Kosier is better then average.
Gurode finally got the lights turned on. No reason for them to dim.
What makes you think Davis is getting anywhere near LT?
Columbo is better then average now and should improve.
That takes care of YOUR arguements.

numbers dont matter,

Yeah, you've never been real big on facts...

a few years ago we have mammouth linemen that didnt do squat..

And a few years before that, we had mammoth offensive linemen who led us to 3 Super Bowls in 4 years...

Flozell - will be gone after this year...especially with the big money he will get...his knee may not make it through the year also...

1) If his knees are so bad, why would he get the "big money"??

2) Given that his knee made it through last year, it's pretty silly to assume it won't be able to make it through next year...

then davis goes to LT?????????????? that will be fun

You don't know that Adams will be gone next year... you also don't know that if he does, Davis would automatically be the replacement... this is especially true if McQuistan turns out to be the player some folks think he can be... last but not least, Leonard was a Pro Bowl alternate a time or two at left tackle, so it ain't like he'd be terrible over there...

Even when I basically agree with you (I also think the line needs a bit more "fixing"), I still find your arguments to be quite ridiculous... you're right this time, but for all the wrong reasons...

And to think, earlier today you complained about MY condescending manner of treating those with whom I disagree...

Your hypocrisy is quite staggering... at the same time, it's quite comical...
