How does a joke of a franchise like the Falcons turn it around in one season while teams like the Commanders, Browns, Raiders etc suck year after year after year?

Last year the Falcons were a team that most anybody in the NFC Beast (East) could beat with backup players. Undisputably bad.

lol, the NFL is all about the QB position and they have Matt Ryan. Is he elite, no, but is still a top 10 or so QB. And now that Julio Jones is healthy, they will be better. Now, am I impressed with the, not really. Philly and the New York aren't world beaters, and Dallas as it's currently constructed is a sub .500 team. Getting players back will help, but if this were the roster for the entire year, none of the 3 would be better than 8 or 9 wins.

I don’t know how you could call the Falcons elite. If they went 8-8 from here it wouldn't surprise me.

They have handled 3 of the 4 teams in the NFC East, the toughest division in the NFL.

Elite :muttley:

They have a good QB{not great}and one of the best receivers in the game. Everything else offensively wise revolves around that; I am sorry but if we were at full strength yesterday we would have beat them easily.:hammer:

Come on man. Geez.

They beat a seriously over hyped Eagles team. Nothing special.

They beat an average, at best, Giants team. Nothing special in the least.

And they beat a Cowboys team missing 3 D-L starters, their elite WR and most importantly their elite franchise QB.

Lets not pretend like they're actually setting the world on fire here.

Well the Cowboys were missing their two best players and the East has been in decline for a while other than that. Totes elites.

9 Starters for Dallas were missing. That tells you everything you need to know. If we had Romo and Dez back this game would never have been even close. With our starting D back it is still a win. Atlanta is not a good team, they just got the right teams at their weakest moments.

toughest, says who?

Washington has won 8 games since week 17 of the 2012 season. The Giants have a sub .500 record in that span. Philly hasn't won a playoff game and Dallas is decimated by injuries. Compare that to the NFC West, AFC North or NFC North

I said in another thread at full strength we win by 30. Maybe more. We were up 21-7 with lots of momentum before that pic and before they adjusted with a preseason offense

Lol the NFC Least is possibly the worst division in football this season.

I'm not all that impressed with Atlanta. They allowed a team with a backup QB to put up 28 points in one half. That is not a good defense that also made Sam Bradford look like an elite quarterback in the second half of that game. They aren't that good.

How do you figure anyone rally believes they are elite team?
A Brandon Weeden-cowboys team was thrashing them. Only our "issues" kept that game from being 35-3

I hope you weren't serious with this comment. I could make the case that the NFC East is the worst; maybe the AFC South is worse, but that's about it.

The Falcons may have been bad last year but it wasn't but a few years ago that they were one of the strongest teams in the NFC so it's not like they came out of nowhere. They had some groundwork already laid down.
