I really think learning from Tyron and Jason Peters has done wonders for this kid.

Peters has been such a positive signing and is always the first to congratulate on the sidelines.
That's something Collinsworth brought up last night too. He can get diarrhea of the mouth at times, but he usually brings up some very good points.

Just like Parsons they will make an excuse. I didn’t see him play like that on his college film.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I liked the pick at the time. Parsons was the BPA.

But let’s be real. If anyone had seen him play like he’s capable of, he would have gone much earlier

True but the draft shows were acting like we drafted the second coming of Jaylon Smith.

I don't owe a thing, unlike many I wait and see how he plays.

They said he was a wasted pick, too handsy, too many penalties. The prior year, they criticized the selection of Micah Parsons.

Well, "they" have been dead wrong. Tyler Smith is a stud offensive lineman showing flashes of a young Tyron Smith and performing better than Larry Allen in his first year. Barring injury, he will be another perennial All-Pro. He has boosted and elevated the OL.

Very worthy of a number one pick!!!! And to that, you all should say AMEN!!!

Are you a “fan”?

if so, based on your own words, you should apologize to Tyler publicly on twitter and Facebook and instagram and then come back

I liked him from day one of the regular season. And wrote it too. I mean he's on his first season and doing a phenomenal job. Yes he's overpowered sometimes, but only by all star pros on the other side. Just like Steele both ends of our o line have a bright future. I wouldn't even switch him to guard when Tyrone returns, but that's just me. In the end it will depend on how much juice Tyrone has really left in him.

That was my whole take on his college career, he had no real coaching! Everyone complain about his holding penalties with absolutely no real coaching.

I knew he was going to be a run making monster. I didn’t expect the past protection to be is great. But I like them from the beginning.

No one owes him an apology. He had a lot of holding calls in college and it was reasonable to be concerned about that. Clearly, that has improved this year. Kudos to Tyler for working on it to correct the problem. He still lets pass rushers get inside his arms at times but he does a much better job of not wrapping his arms around the defenders when they do get inside.

Honestly, who really expected that Tyler, Connor McGovern and Biadasz would all play as well as they have? And Steele too, who has become a force in the run game.

The position flex is what puts him over the top, to me. He's been playing well in both spots. So now we don't really have to fret over a injury to Tyron every year.

It is not at all unusual for college LTs to slide inside to guard.
