A lot of talk this offseason has been that with the free agency losses and lack of singings has created a need for the Cowboys to have a very good draft class. Here is a look at the first two days of the last five drafts to see how we've done historically. I mostly did this for my own information but some here might find it interesting.

2019 Jason Garrett's last year has head coach
Amari Cooper
(2019 first round pick traded to Raiders in 2018) played 3.5 seasons for the cowboys and was signed by the Browns
Trysten Hill Started five games for the Cowboys, on the Patriots roster in 2023 started no games and was active for one game
Connor McGovern Started 29 games for the Cowboys in three seasons. Started 17 games for the Bills in 2023
None of the players are currently on the roster

2020 Mike McCarthy is hired as Garrett's replacement
Cee Dee Lamb
Started all but 2 games since being drafted, led the league in receptions and was second in total yards in 2023
Trevon Diggs Started his rookie season injured in 2023
Neville Gallimore played for four seasons started 14 games
Two of the players are still on the roster and are starters

2021 Dan Quinn is hired as defensive coordinator
Micah Parson
started his rookie season and has double digit sacks all three years
Kelvin Joseph played for two seasons started 3 games traded to Miami
Osa Odighizuwa started his rookie season and has been a starter since
Chauncey Golston Played in 47 games and started in 3
Nahshon Wright Played in 32 games and started in 3
four of the players are still on the roster and two are projected as starters

2022
Tyler Smith
started 31 games in 2 seasons
Sam Williams played in 21 games started 0 2024 will be his third season when players usually either step up or don't
Jalen Tolbert played in 25 games started 7 2024 will be his third season when players usually either step up or don't
All three players are still on the roster and could be starters this season

2023 TBD
Mazi Smith
played in 17 games started 3
Luke Schoonmaker played in 17 games started 0
DeMarvion Overshown injured before the start of the season
All three players still on the roster.

Ding ding ding
for all the talk about how well we supposedly draft, our record in the second round is about as bad as it gets and that is a serious flaw that is hurting this team
and this comes down to the Jones boys wanting to make people think they are football guys

Itll be Jonathan Brooks this year. Then they will say he’s going to take it ”slow”, won’t do much in camp and start the year on the PUP

Of course I am only kidding, but this is how it usually goes lol

Trysten Hill and Nashon Wright were both taken 30 to 60 spots too high.
Kelvin Joseph should have been put into “the box” and never touched. He had too many red flags.
Those swings and misses still hurt.

It's a fact that they draft well.

IFs a fact that you will defend the FO no matter what
We have drafted badly in the second rd for years but you will never admit that will you?
Nope, I absolutely hated Roy Williams and they made a big mistake on the money that they gave Pollard. They should have used that money on a linebacker.
