well seattle is not losing so that kills the chances of the 1st round bye

No, it doesn't. If Dallas and Seattle both win out, they will both have the same record(12-4). Then it will come down to what happens with the Lions and Packers the final two weeks. If either of them finish with the same record(12-4) as Dallas and Seattle, then Dallas gets the #3 seed. If they both finish with worse records than the Cowboys and Seahawks, then Dallas gets a bye and the #1 seed.

Yes, that is why the most likely scenario is hoping for both the Lions and Packers to lose 1 game each. It keeps them out of a three-way tie with us. It doesn't matter what Seattle or Arizona does in that case.

Unless this happens (Lions and Pack lose 1 game), we have to hope that Arizona loses two and Seattle loses the final game against the Rams. Even if Arizona loses two, if Seattle doesn't lose to Rams it creates a three-way tie with Hawks and Lions or Packers. We lose the bye in a three way tie.

If you want to be accurate, this is not true. There are ways for us to get a bye at 11-5, although it is unlikely (less than a 4 percent chance).

I was not as thorough in my research, as I tried to keep it simple for the most likely scenarios.
