Another year.. Another Cowboys team that looks awesome but a dark cloud from previous seasons still hangs over this franchise.

The games are fun but it’s all for nothing if we get to the post season and have our typical no show.

The first thing Brady said about Dak was about his lack of post season success.

So be excited. The Cowboys have a championship caliber roster.

But..

The dark cloud doesn’t leave until we do something in the post season.

Dallas looked like the most impressive team to me today and it wasn’t really close.

Keep in mind we were road underdogs.

Right, the postseason is how Dak and this team will be judged. Are they gonna have success or are they gonna go into the fetal position once again with all kinds of excuses?

But let’s enjoy the regular season for now and watch how the team develops.

!6 games left. No one ever looks like what they did in week 1, especially these days with the short Preseason and easy Training Camp.

But looks like something promising to build on. For me, most excited that the young Oline came through and defense looks like it might be able to stop the run this year.

Yes. Everyone needs to remember. Nothing counts except the superbowl. These “regular season” wins are stupid. So don’t enjoy them ever. Concentrate on the playoff losses over the years and never forget!

When the games really count we go into the fetal position.
So enjoy it now.

This is exactly the kind of fan skepticism that this franchise has earned over the last 28 years.

You cannot trust what you see because the bottom has fallen out so many times.

They will have to prove it in January. They have lost all credibility at this point. While McCarthy can point to 3 straight 12 win seasons as being quite an achievement, and he has a point— we can point to when he was hired with the goal of getting this team over the hump in the postseason— and that has yet to happen.

So in essence, he has won some battles, but lost the wars. Until that changes— the skepticism will remain— and that is a direct result of this team’s underachievments.

Look there's a few ways to be a fan.
1. Just win baby and everything is fine.
2 As former players of football at any level, you watch the game differently. You expect good, or at least solid play in every facet of the game at this level.
I was happy last night, but today is my "film" day, in which I'm focused in what didn't go right. There is always a lot of room for improvement.
If you want to be through the roof excited, Great!
But I will discuss issues that need to be addressed.
As a player, you leave a game feeling like you played great, after film the next day you leave feeling naked and violated.
It's how I roll, enjoy the season your own way.

When we win the Super Bowl, I'll take a few months off.

I get it, and honestly, I'm a bit reserved too, but yesterday was a very good win.

On the road, vs a playoff team, and a defense that was #1 last year. There's more positives to build off the game than negatives.
I'm not planning a trip to the superbowl, but at the same time willing to let the team show what they got for the first handful of games.

I have to admit I was expecting a loss. The offseason was terrible. The distractions even leading up to the game. But they surprised me. I was thoroughly entertained. All three phases played lights out. Kudos to all.

Exactly. This whole season has a dead man walking vibe. We've seen this movie before. I didn't even watch most of the 2nd half

In order to make it to the post season, one must handle business in the regular season. A road win on grass as an underdog is still a road win. Yes, the dark cloud is on the horizon. But you can't overcome the storm without preparation. 16 more to go. I'm sure there will be bumps in the road. I think the defense told us a lot about this team yesterday. Let the offensive line sort itself out and lean on the defense to keep you in the game. That was the 1st time all 22 starters played together and it showed. Cautiously optimistic is not a bad viewpoint after a week 1 win.

I had huge concerns coming into this year. There are definitely issues with the team that kind of puts a cap on them.

That said, one of the big issues that I was worried about was defense. The fact that the team looked really good yesterday puts a pretty high floor on the team this year. Barring critical injuries, I think they are going to be good again.

I suspect they will flame out in the playoffs but at least I can enjoy the ride.

Fans place far too much weight on winning championships. It’s not all their fault. The media over hypes winning the gold .

There used to be something said for being a contender. In the NFL 16 now 17 meaningful games which lead to postseason appearance used to be the benchmark for success.

Winning or playing for championships was more of cream rising or gravy on top. Not the total measurement of success.

Not necessarily . Unless Browns turn out to be a non playoff or below .500 team this year.

The Cowboys mantra has been bullying up on bad teams not playoff teams or top defenses which the Browns were last year.
