The Four Horsemen Of The Dallas Cowboys Apocalypse

Nicely done. But tell us something we didn't already know.

As Cowboys fans we should be thinking about life after Jerry. What will that be like. Will Stephen assume the GM role? Will he hire an actual football person to replace his father? I am sure in his head Stephen already has a plan.
Jerry could have another 10 years at least. Some of us will be too old to enjoy life after Jerry. Have no idea what kind of an owner Stephen will be although I suspect he'll be worst. I've already realized that I've seen the best of the Cowboys. Hope is for the younger fans.

In the early/mid 90s.

Are you really unaware of his horrific GMing since then? I mean, talk about turning a blind eye.
Landry projected to have 3 in 44 years.

Jerry is at about 37 years.

Jerry has about 7 years before he falls below the Mendoza Line (Landry Line) of 1 per 14.5 years...

Jerry could live another 10 years, sure. But can he stay in control of the team for another 10 years. Judging from his recent interactions with the media, I say no. I believe within 3 years Jerry gives up some or all control of the team to his son. I think I can last another 3 years even after two diagnoses of bladder cancer. LOL

Yes, it is the added Nepotism of getting the next GM through it, that gives some of us little hope. One GM for life followed by his son being GM for life. ouch!

The Fallacy of your argument: Those three were because he hired Jimmy. >.> Geez I wonder what would've happened if he would've hired Switzer to start off with instead....

It's fact. The Cowboys have won 3 Super Bowls since Jerry purchased the team.

What if Landry didn't have Tex and Gil...

To be honest, i think switzer first, jerry would be 0-37 years; and we'd be posting 50 years ('78) since the last superbowl chip. No way they would be worth 15 billion today if he didnt hire jimmy....jerry cashed in and probably still is off that early 90's dynasty.

The Cowboys have won 3 Super Bowls with Jerry as the owner.

They had only won 2 previously.

Jerry paid for Bob Hayes funeral...
The Cowboys won two Super Bowls with Jerry and Jimmy Johnson as the coach.

They won one more with Jimmy's players a year after he left.

Since then it's been 31 years of futility. The pre-Jones Cowboys made it to five Super Bowls and missed the playoffs just once between 1966 and 1985.

Dallas made it to 12 NFC Championship games in the Super Bowl era pre-Jones. They've been to precisely zero since January 1996.

Landry had 20 consecutive winning seasons and countless NFC championship appearances, Super Bowl appearances, and two Lombardi trophies.

You talk like someone who never saw the 70s Cowboys play and like someone completely ignorant of all the offensive and defensive innovations Landry brought to the NFL.

Landry was also a man of great integrity, unlike our groper in chief Jerry Jones. To even compare Jerry to Landry just shows that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Landry earned his NFL respect, while Jerry bought his. Big difference.

Another fallacy in your argument. Jerry the GM has at most 1 super bowl while he was GM, versus Jerry the owner. I'm guessing that is why you are comparing Jerry to Landry. At furthermore, most people would argue that the players that won the 3rd superbowl of the 90's were Jimmy's and that Jerry was already negatively impacting the quality of the team as a GM when he took over. I mean you did realize that Jimmy was the GM while he was here, right?

Well I was wondering why the heck is he comparing a Coach to an Owner. But I guess he is saying Team Builder vs. Team Builder. It's a flawed comparison, to begin with on so many levels.

That last sentence says it all. “The apocalypse isn’t coming to Dallas. It’s been here for 30 years.”

JJ suffocates this franchise with his obsessive insecurities that will not allow anyone else to play an independent and powerful role in this organization. By serving as owner, president and GM, he continually sets his prize possession up for failure.

Years from now Jerry will serve as a cautionary tale of hubris, arrogance and self absorption. Hopefully his children will be able to release the death grip it has on this once great franchise.
You've heard me say...Stephen better send a message IMMEDIATLEY....and I do mean IMMEDIALTY....after Jerry is no longer in charge....that things will be done differently going forward. Any hint of more of the same and the 4 toes I have left in the room will join the six that have already left the building.
