Good grief. I didn't say in lieu of Romo, just yet.

I recognize that Romo represents our best hope right now, but we can no longer ignore that we need to have one to groom a real QB to be ready in case Romo's permanently knocked out of the game or retires.

If the Commanders cut RG3 would you guys want him? Obviously not with his current contract but if they release him would you want him to groom to be Romo's replacement?

i think most would prefer an nfl level qb

It is a year to year league for the most part. Romo is 35 and his back is much older. No way they can go into next season with Weeden as plan B.

Exactly right. There's no telling what kind of team they'll be next year. That's why losing this one really sucks. It might have been their last chance with Romo.

I think, like most fads in the NFL, that the league's defenses have caught up to the read option QBs.

Call me old-fashioned, but give me a big, true pocket passer who can read coverages any day and everyday.

Yeah I agree, the only qb style that has lasted is the traditional, drop back, pocket passers. I don't think I'd want to take a flyer on RG3.
