The Cowboys are up by six points, the opposing team has the ball at its own 25 with 1:30 to go with two time outs. We know they are going to throw, which four Cowboys all time do you want on this do or die DL. You can give your first team and 2nd.
1st team
DE DeMarcus Ware, #94 (3-4 OL, who went to DE on pass rushing downs, averaged over 15 sacks per season, '06-'11;
Harvey Martin #79 (23 sacks in 1977, a four-time Pro Bowler, a 1970s NFL all-decade selection, the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1977 and a Super Bowl MVP in 1978 )
DT Bob Lilly #74, the Sheriff, who completely controlled the line of scrimmage,had a high sack count of 15 in a 14 game season, 1966; 29 yard sack of Bob Griese in 1972 Super Bowl told us it was ours for the first time; a legend in his own time; supernatural strength; the "unblockable, unstoppable, force of The Doomsday Defense". He was regularly double- and triple-teamed for the majority of his career. All-Pro seven times, and was selected to play in 11 Pro Bowl games
Randy "the Manster" White #54 Best defensive player in college football 1974 as a DE; 2nd player in 1975 draft; 1978, NFC Def. Player of the Year; named to 9 consecutive All-Pro and Pro Bowl teams. Highest sack total of 16, he had double digit sacks 5 times, averaging 13 over those five statistical years. LILLY and WHITE are Hall of Famers
2nd team
DE
Too Tall Jones,largest wingspan in NFL history ay 6'9"; when turned loose, he was a nightmare, causing opposing QB's to throw higher, leading to many INT's; also seemingly led league in blocked passes every year
Charles Haley, instant QB pressure machine, a winner;He is the first five-time Super Bowl champion
DT
Jethro Pugh,led the Cowboys in sacks ,1968 to 1972, averaging 12.5 sacks with a high of 15.5 in 1968,
Leon Lett At 6 '6" with college basketball experience, he was a force up the middle; A two-time Pro Bowler, Lett was an integral member of the Cowboys teams that won three Super Bowls
Two LB's will be on field with four defensive lineman and five DB's. I pick Micah Parsons and Sean Lee as the LB's.
