I just bought the DVD and watched it, cause I am a big Rock fan. So far I have been pleased with all of his movies, except Walking Tall. I have seen him grow as an actor with each movie.

I thought this movie was very cute. I was a great family movie. I cannot believe he got ripped by critics over this film. This is why I hate movie critics.......garbage like The Piano gets all kinds of acclaim, while a sweet, simple family movie gets pulled through the ringer.

I was impressed that there was no cussing whatsoever in this film. I am also impressed that there was zero nudity. I say this because, I have seen several children oriented films and I have seen either or both in them.

If you haven't seen it, and you have kids.....I think yall will really like this movie.

two thumbs up from me.

BTW, on a side note........another football movie that is pretty good, Facing the Giants........it was filmed by a church down in Georgia. They did an excellent job. It is a Christian movie about a football coaches struggles and then triumph on and off the field.

I haven't seen The Gameplan yet. But will soon. I have seen Facing the Giants. Good movie. I just don't understand with most "Christian" movies why the dialog seems so....."fake". I just doesn't flow. Does that make since? Like with the Left Behind movies. Even with actors like Kirk Cameron the dialog was horrible. Just my observation

it was a bit campy...but hey, it was a nice wholesome movie. I thought they did an awesome job for a bunch of amateurs.

My wife is trying to write a christian novel that doesn't cave in and try to be fake. She'll include plenty of swearing since most of the characters in her novel are not Christian, and wants to portray them realistically. We both hate how all other Christian works baby the audience, and try to sugar coat the world. Of course, we're both Christians who have no problem with saying a good ole F bomb. And her novel is more meant to reach out non-Christians instead of making people who are already Christians feel hunky dory.
