In watching JG's press conference from today he talks about Tony Romo and how hard he has worked and things he has improved on in the off season. I think JG understands that as an offensive coach he must forge a bond with his QB (similar to Brees and Payton in NO) in order for the team to be successful. I think JG has positioned Romo to have his best season yet and that he will be the key to this season and beyond. Yeah, I know the Romo haters will laugh but I think JG understands that the first step to winning in the NFL is to have good QB play. The way to do that is to invest all your chips in a QB with talent and potential (such as Romo) and show confidence in him and build the offense around what he does best. I think for this reason, Garrett is the right coach to get the most out of Romo and allow him to take that next step everyone is waiting to see from Romo. Agree or disagree?

I think it is important to have confidence in Romo and put quality players around him. I think for Garrett to succeed as a HC he must then be a HC which means you are HC for all 53 players. He can't be just an OC he has to take charge of the entire team and set the tone for the entire team.

Thus far I think he is doing that as he has been actively involved in all phases

I fully agree that he must coach the whole team but that his first and most important step is to get things right with Romo and everything will proceed from that. And you're right he has been fully involved in all phases and I would expect that to continue.

I don't disagree but him and Romo have had a good relationship now for a while. I think Garrett believes in Tony and trust Tony to do the job

I'm excited to watch Tony play again. Just let the man go to work.

I'm sure Tony is ready to go given his season was cut short last season.

There's no question that the head coach and QB need to be on the same page. I think that relationship was pretty solid long before Garrett became the head coach.

Red knows he will sink or swim with Romo.
