You’re assuming Schotty made the hires. I’m sure he had some imput but every move the Cowboys make is collaborative and Jerry makes the final call.

I seriously doubt Jerry knew who any of those coaches were until they were hired. So, yeah, I think their are alll either Schottenheimer or a referral from one of his coaches.

Jerry won’t hire a coach unless he gets a lot of impute. A coaching staff is a very important decision. He certainly won’t leave it up to a rookie HC to put together a staff.

the Assistant OL coach.

- The passing game design and play calling seems to be in the hands of Schott & Ken Dorsey.
So it's Good luck & wait & see with that one.

BS has never really put up anything significant on his resume to let him get a HC gig in my opinion. No one asked for an Interview with him besides the Cowboys. His offenses mostly were average to bad and he was given this job without any real competition cause Jerry wants another "Yes-Man" ala Jason Garrett. Thats what i think..

This is exactly it. I’m not sure where the praise for the assistant coaching staff is coming from. They’re a bunch of unknowns and up and comers. I guess that’s better than washed up has beens, but they are unproven.

Explain this. Because the Eagles fired their SB winning coach, stripped down the first SB winning roster and retooled on the fly. In that time frame they drafted a QB and dumped their starting QB after giving him, at the time, a massive extension.

Shotty had a good run in Seattle.

But the offense last season was terrible. He was OC.

That playbook needs to be burned.

He gets a pass I guess.

He got interviews and was wanted years ago but turned them down because he felt he wasn't ready yet. That wasn't a good career or financial decision at the time, but it doesn't mean nobody wanted him as a coach.

And please never compare him to the redhead fraud that is Garrett. BS didn't con his way into Jerry's heart based on his daddy working for Jerry or carrying Troy's clipboard.

The dude is legit. I've said it all along that he's more talented than many obtuse fans realize. I mean, McCarthy needed a scapegoat. And Jerry never should have allowed Moore to take the fall for McCarthy, because that's what happened.

Watch. Kellen will be good in Nawlins. He just knows football.

I’m referencing since 2021….not 2017. Since Sirianni has been there.

Not like it was Schotty's offense - more so it was believed to be McCarthy's offense.

That's why McCarthy wanted the reins back from the departed Kellen Moore.

Kellen (per the jones) had more say-so control of the offense, than what Schotty had as OC under Big Mike.

Schotty can offer suggestions and tipbits to his boss Mike, but he can also be stifled and miffed by a stubborn McCarthy also.

If Kellen Moore is still an NFL head coach in 3 years or even an OC in 5 years, than he has naked pics of people doing bad things to children. IMO, he's very over rated and actually just isn't very good even as an OC. In the years since he became an OC I haven't once thought, wow he is actually really good at this job. But for some reason he got anointed by the media as the next great thing. I don't see it, at all.

I think he may be a great hire, but so was McCarthy.

If he's so great, why didn't he and his offense flourish in Dallas? And don't say Jerry because Jerry wasn't calling any plays. And don't say MM either because the offense was a lot better the first year after Moore was fired.
Could it maybe, just maybe, be better personnel over coaching? Like I said time will tell if he is a good coach or not. I have my doubts. In the mean time you guys can keep on anointing him as the next greatest coach ever that Dallas wasted a chance with.
