You played at A&I, I went to school there....what would you think of Al Harris as head coach? Do you think he's ready?
I know this wasn't directed at me but I like Al Harris a lot. Unfortunately, the problems I'm seeing are from the top.

The scariest thing is that it has been at home! What if it keeps happening? What if all home games are blowouts from now on? :omg:

Re watching this game already knowing outcome lets you see it from a different perspective. I think that Dallas is going to be ok and I say that because im hopefully assuming that they won’t have to play against the refs annnnd the team they are playing every week…

both of the first two drives had self inflicted penalties at the worst possible times, that paired with two purposely missed calls(the only thing that explains them)by the refs were too much to over come.

The refs actually didn’t call two blatant penalties one facemask and then pass interference!!! Rico should have gotten both of those calls. The non callas were instant drive killers. Make those calls and Dallas either ties the score at 21 or Dallas goes ahead on the Lamb TD. The calls and non calls actually changed the trajectory of the game all before half time.

Dallas wasn’t going undefeated and these first 3 games are basically preseason for everyone.

Yea, several writers comparing this embarrassing blowout to Packers shellacking.

This Cowboys team are front runners. Get them down early and they look like deer in the headlights.

It throws off our entire scheme which relies offensively on passing the ball and defensively putting pressure on QB.

Opponents are able to rush the ball down our throats and with no running game of our own crowd our receivers and pressure on QB.

...Ravens and 49ers will set them straight. Either they'll wake up, and find way to compete.

Or fold over and realize, you just dont got it at this point in time. Which is harder to swallow.

On Jan 14, 2024, the second seeded Cowboys in the NFC were completely destroyed by the 7th seed packers 48-32 in what was the worst playoff loss in the storied history of the Dallas Cowboys. Completely dominated at home in the playoffs.

Playoff losses like that can be hard to overcome mentally. They become mental ghosts that haunt a team that is trying to become a better version of itself than the recent evidence. Ghosts that whisper “nothing has changed” in the ears of every Cowboys player and coach who witnessed the beat down in January and yesterday.

Fast forward eight months later, in the Cowboys home opener on the same field as that packers loss, the Cowboys turn in a performance that is amazingly similar. The saints hung 44 on the Cowboys and probably could have put 70 on us if they chose to. And it felt all day like we were watching the same movie from last January.

The last two home games at AT&T, the Cowboys have surrendered 92 points on defense, an average of 46 points per game. That’s almost unbelievable. But this team and more importantly, this front office, better drink some really strong coffee because this team looks hauntingly the same despite a lot of new faces on both sides of the ball.

It‘s way too early for this team to panic. There is plenty of time for this team to rebound. But when there is carryover of the same old problems from one season to the next, it becomes exponentially hard mentally when not much has changed from one season to the next. The ghosts of seasons past are whispering. So the question becomes, can this team block it out and rebound?
No. They lack the talent, coaching and leadership

The first series told the whole story both games, you didn’t have to read the whole book.

Said as much in the game thread. History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes.

The rare teams - think Marv Levy's Bills - recover from devastating losses. Even then, I never saw Levy or Kelly go deer-in-headlights. Once your general is shell-shocked, the mission is compromised.
Mark Levy Bills have the greatest comeback in playoff history. . Of course they’re not going to shrink when the world is falling down in the . Even when we blowing them out and their. Stating qb got hurt out the game, they were still fighting hard and competing. We were just the more talented team. My brother is a Bills and he has handled rewatching those Super Bowl losses more than I can handle out postseason blinders since Chan Gailey. I still haven’t rewatched the cardinals wildcard loss, the Vikings loss, packers losses or the giants loss. Jsut hurt too much

Well they are in a tough situation that’s for sure have to hope the coaching staff can turn this around quick before more losses pile up.need to have the veterans step in and show leadership too.

The Cowboys are fools gold.

Simple as that.

None of this matters until the playoffs anyways if we even get there.

This team really just isn't very good. It's not snake bitten. It's not haunted by ghosts. It's isn't possessed by demons. They just flat out can't play all that well. The coaching stinks. The culture is a mess and management is delusional and cheap. Not exactly a recipe for consistent success.

while i agree to a point - the way the defense played is only fixable with new personnel and better coaching - one of those you can fix with some adjustments the other you have to wait until FA/Draft....i just dont see the run defense closing the gap
it's ridiculous that's not true at all from one week to another you can't say oh we need to scratch everything and go back to drawing boards no way to fix it seriously some of you say things and I doubt you even think about them yes you can make adjustments it's week to week because there's a league full of different teams made-up of different types of players and coaches and when you meet them the matchups only matter on the field nothing hyped up before the game or all the preseason nonsense and so the rankings when you play you play and something's happened yeah penalties that weren't called you're off by 1 inch from knocking a ball down you get missed tackles at a place it happens yes it's very fixable Mike McCarthy in games after blowouts is 3-1..for some reason he finds a way to not have it fall apart SEE 12-5 3 straight seasons and 2 division titles 5 of 8 seasons in the playoffs..
Id say that supports my week-to-week theorry,17 games you pay them all and see how it works our, not give up at game 3 and say it cant be fixed. By the way I'm pretty sure I've said this already but let me say it again we've had these games yearly we've had at least one we have the Denver game the Oakland Raider on Thanksgiving game we had last year's Green Bay game and the Denver Broncos a couple of years back and we always see the bounce back and make adjustments right after we got on a roll we finished the season strong last year after getting rolled up by San Francisco... So why don't we let this play out before you say we gotta scrap it and you're already looking forward to next offseason can you get past that that's like saying some stuff to make yourself heard and feel better hey I get it we're all in shock but you know what I've seen this before.. At least once a year every team has one of these but we seem to have more than others but we always seem to play better afterwards that means they can make adjustments they can find better packages or players can play better the next week a better scheme a better game plan better adjustments and all is part of football it's part of sports...

This year, we know enough already...unless Daron Bland comes back and this defense magically improves. What we know is that there's very little chance of a deep playoff run, unless the NFC has a down year (which could happen). If SF, Philly and Detroit all look quite beatable early, then hec, maybe that means the Cowboys have a slight chance to slide into the playoffs and win a game or two.

But, it's McCarthy, so if there was ever a Dead Coach Walking, it's him. Do any of us REALLY trust him to get this team ready to play in December or January?

If they get beat by 0-2 ravens 14-27 or worse at home, it may be time to start thinking about next season.
