First of all. Wow what a game.

Seeing the way Dak is playing right now, missing 2 starters on the OL and his WR1 is actually awesome. Javonte Williams (Ill eat my crow here) looks fantastic. I was not expecting him to look like this and I hope he can sustain it. I just wish this team had more options at RB.

Pickens. WOW. Good for him. Hopefully he can keep his head on straight and not lose his mind if the game isnt going according to plan.

It was great to see this team raise their level (at least on offense) when no one including myself gave them a chance.

Now the bad.

Lets start off with the whole Micah storyline the whole lead up to the game. My God let it go. He's gone. I ain't happy about it but talking about it constantly plays right into this teams owners hands.

This defense may be the worst thing I have seen in a long time. It may be worse than the defense that gave up the NFL record of first downs in a game to the Saints. There is literally nothing they do well.

This is by far the worst group of LBs in the NFL. No hope here. None.

DE - Williams finally makes a play, but guess what. Penalty. He is just a DUMB football player. Which they knew before drafting him but hey, Jerry loves his second round projects.

Corner? Where? This team doesnt have one. You can see why Elam was let go of so quickly. What a mistake.

This offense is unfortunately going to probably cost this team valuable draft position. The way Dak is playing he may take us out of a top ten pick.

My main prayer here is that Jerry doesnt see this team do well against the Jets and Panthers and make a move with a pick.

A lot of good points.
But your last line with making moves with using a pick. I can't get on board with. They are more than a player away to be true contenders.
The one player may help get them into the playoffs as a 6th or 7th seed. But not to win the NFCE.

Best to wait and use them to move around in the next 2 drafts.

It's interesting that other teams would like to make the playoffs and then we have Cowboy fans that don't want to make the playoffs.

Not if we're going to be one and done (which is exactly what will happen if we make the playoffs). If we make it, it's going to be because we squeaked in and meanwhile, we go further down on the draft board. I think we need to fix the problems, strengthen up that defense, then next year, by all means, let's do it... As I've said before, the disappointing thing is I don't trust the Joneses to do what's needed to strengthen this team.

The thing is with the playoffs anything can and will happen.
Getting eliminated is an afterthought reaction. I just can't understand this concept, hey let us lose, and get a better draft pick from the start of the season.

Look at the NYG. Dallas was the #1 seed, NYG barely made the playoffs.
They beat Dallas because of a Crayton dropped pass. And beat NE in the SB, by 1 inch helmet catch.

Do you honestly think picking 19th or picking 14th makes the big of a difference. Unless we go 1-16 with he top pick. And we all know that will not happen either.

I think you're misreading his last sentence. He agrees with you that Jerry shouldn't trade the picks. He's afraid he might if Dallas goes out and looks great against the bad teams coming up.

Teams that make the playoffs don't know if they will win or lose.

we are not championship calibur team. we haven't been one in 30 years. our victory is to get to playoffs, so just go with it.

I understand what your saying, but there is a significant difference as the trade chart applies value. That chart is referenced by all when eyeing trade up or down in the 1st round.

Theo Epstein took over a Cubs organization that had not won it all in 100 years, although they randomly made the playoffs here and there. When he took over in 2011, he would say every year at the trade deadline he was a seller if the team couldn't win it all. He would say, "I don't care about the optics of a lost season, I am here to win a World Series."

He did just that in 2016. Competing is nice, but winning it all takes a disciplined FO to know when to hold em or fold em. This years team cannot win it all. We can hope all we want, but even if they make the playoffs they cannot win it all with this roster and DC.

Build for the future imo.

I want to save the firsts for drafting our future at QB, no matter how well Dak plays. But I've come to the conclusion because we don't use high-quality free agents while Jerry has shown he isn't afraid to trade for players that we may be better off trading picks for veterans on bad teams. I mean, (assuming we could get him for a second) would you rather have Trey Hendrickson or draft Sam Williams? Yes, I know we'd have to give Hendrickson a new contract, but once he's ours, Jerry has shown he's willing to pay a player (well, except Micah). We don't need any Mingo or Trey Lance trades, but I think there will be some veterans made available that are worth it not just for the rest of this year but for a few years to come.

Is your goal the playoffs or Super Bowl?

1st goal ... make the playoffs
2nd goal ... win the division
3rd goal ... get the #1 seed or as high of a seed as possible

SB goal comes after you make the playoffs.
ALL Teams goal is to win the SB. But you need to do the 1st goal to give yourself that opportunity.

If most fans had their way, they would be 3-14 every year to get a high draft pick. They do not make any sense.
So what if you get these high draft picks, and they are now happy (which I doubt they ever will be) then what if one and done in the playoffs with the best roster in the NFL. Will they go back to wanting to lose all the time again?

As I said they do not make any sense.

Doesn't matter.
MAKE THE PLAYOFFS ....
I don't care how the Cubs compare to the Cowboys. That is a poor analogy.

Not making the playoffs in lieu of a draft pick 5 spots higher is a loser mentality. PERIOD.

We had the one seed.

Got destroyed by the 7 seed. First time in history btw.

Aren't you tired of going to the playoffs and being one and done?

I want to actually contend.

Giants had one of the best defenses in the league brother.

Dont make that comparison. Please.
