Man is Dak ever divisive.
IMO, won loss record is a silly or weak argument for a QB. A sock puppet could have QB'd the Cowboys to the playoffs in Dak's rookie year.
Up until this year, Dak has been an average QB relative to his peers, at least throwing wise. Almost all the metrics have him between 10 and 20 as far as QB's in the years where he was playing. I would give him a bump above average because he seems to be a good locker room guy, reliably healthy and a good runner.
This year, Dak has moved up to being good. He has had a ton of passes where I simply don't think he would have been able to make in the past, particularly downfield. He still isn't great. A great QB doesn't score 10 points against the 26th ranked defense with a 73 rating.
NO, opponent QB's
Watson 114.3
Goff 112.6
Wilson 102.6
Prescott 73.2
Oh, and for measure, Miami opponent QB's
Jackson 158.3
Brady 124.7
Prescott 91.7
Rivers 131.7
So, in two of the four games, Dak has had the worst game out of the 4 QB's that played those teams.
And yeah, Dak has been let down by receivers at times. Lots of drops. At the same time, you can frequently count his available time in the pocket with a calendar. He isn't running for his life 0.5 seconds after the snap every down.
The Dak hate is frequently over the top but the Dak supporters also need to tap the brakes a little.
