I wouldn't count Det as bad team. The have explosive RB, WR's that can catch N run. A better than avg QB. Cowboys showed guts playing out there. Only had 2 penalty's the whole game. Whether they can do it every Sunday? That's the conundrum.

OC, did call some bonehead plays. That endzone opportunity was golden for 7. I guess they wanted to test run Gathers..... for Basketball loop. I hope they scratch it, we dont have TE's for that play.

Oh man, yes the ugly. Our secondary....went from being above avg to suspect. Richards better fix it. Do I have faith in him? Yes, I do, I think he can. Then again, I'm just waiting for the Eggnog to hit the stores soon. ..:).. What do I know? ..
Mmmmmmmmm, love the NognWhiskey.

You will get the ability to create threads and give out Likes after you've posted a little more.

As to your weird season comment, couldn't agree more. This one is the weirdest so far and watching Dungy and Harrison's reactions to start SNF pretty well summed it up.

Except for the Rams, is any NFC team who we thought they were? D's actually got worse in the off season for ATL, NO, MIN and CHI looks like a real contender. And the freakin' Skins are atop the East!!!!! Are these things we are seeing for real? Hell if I know. But Any Given Sunday is alive and well.

Very true! I'm just not ready to declare Dak horrible and the offense totally inept. I think our coaches are stubborn and a bit behind the times on the offensive side of the ball, they have to be better and game planning to our players strengths and not a force fed predictable scheme. You're right, no one is who we thought they would be in our division, well aside from the Giants, and I believe the offense has the right parts to potentially really improve weekly.

Also, thank you for letting me know about the likes and what it takes to start threads I appreciate that. Believe it or not I've been coming to this forum for many many years just as a lurker and I was always kind of intimidated to join in because there are so many die hards with lots of forum history. You have no clue how many late nights I've spent on this forum reading through all the threads over the years without participation.

Last year, he (Elliot) scored on a 73-yard screen pass against the 49ers. As a rookie, he scored on an 83-yard screen pass against Pittsburgh.

“We call that the Linehan Special,” Elliott said. “I have three touchdown catches off that. It works every time."

Maybe, things will develop up around Prescott as well...

This is the same Detroit team that handled NE last week pretty convincingly. They are not a bad team.

And got rolled over by jets to the tune of 45-17 earlier. Just goes to show that you really don't know what some of these teams are this early in the season. Good, bad, ugly, inconsistent, whatever... hard to tell for some teams 4 games in.

Now stop that!! No reason for anyone to be intimidated here, everyone brings something to the party, I like to bring the petit fours because that brings a smile to the face when you pop one in. Some just bring the gravy in hopes there will be meat and/or potatoes.

You can go over to the Members Zone and start your own Welcome Me thread and we'll give you a cyber noogie and show you the secret handshake.

There are some that will get in your face here but they just need a big ole hug. They weren't loved enough as children.

je the 8th, too soon to throw the towel in on the team as this has already started off as the strangest NFC I've seen. LAR is the only team that is who we thought they were. We're all talking that it would take 11 wins to get into the postseason and I am not so sure now. And I am not convinced that an East team can't catch a WC spot either.

.........lol.... now your talking coach. Throw that in the playbook. ;)
It's there already. And the variety of hooch that makes the Nog oh so much better is endless.

Praxy, tried making it one time and my wife came home from shopping and asked me "what the hell are you doing"? It looked like I had slaughtered a bunch of dairy cows. I told her "making egg nog". She put her hands on her hips and said " there's 3 things wrong with this. 1, I don't like egg nog, 2, they make it and have it in the stores and 3, they don't make it in my kitchen". My loss and Promised Land's gain.

Good that they got a win at home against a bad team. Good that the PK was 4 for 4. Good that Dak looked a lot better and Zeke rebounded from two poor plays in SEA and showed up big.

The Bad that they could not count on the defense to close out the game. It is not about stats, although picks would be nice, it is about being able to turn the game over to the defense with a lead to close out the game. They could not do this against an OK offense at home.

The Ugly was putting Gathers in on such a critical play and seeing just what a football player he isn't. Do they really think he's their best option of all the WR's and TE's? And they were going to him from the get go and he couldn't even box out the DB with that huge frame. I guarantee you we would have been going off on this, as well as all of the analysts, had they not been able to mount that drive and get the FG. That was one of the great bonehead plays, with so many to choose from, called by this OC since he's been here.

A W is a W but expected against an inferior team. That Bad better get better because they have some much better teams coming up.
I wasn't so mad about the Rico play. at least now the rico Fan club can shut up for a little while. their words...he would unstoppable against any NFL player in jump balls in the end zone... but I am sure its the coaches fault for not getting him in position to catch a pass.

This week the two CB's get their best test so far, better than the Giants because HOU's OL is better and Watson will buy time.

Hopkins amazes me much like Jerry Rice did. Everyone knew Watson was coming to him in OT and he was open anyway. He's as good a WR as these guys will face all season and it's up to the DL to make Watson get the ball out before he wants to. HOU also has a very good RB in Miller.
Serious qiestion, if they’re that good why are they 1-3 and if it weren’t for horrible coaching on the Colts part they would be 0-3-1?

They basically tied the Colts, lost to one of the worst teams in the league in the Gnats. Beat by questionable NE and beat by a shaping up Titans team. Personally I think we’ll stomp them by a minimum of 10 points and wouldn’t be surprised to see more.

Yep, just like they had to pull him out of the game the week before for his only play.

However, not going to do any good if the jump balls are within reach of the DB. It's just me but I would have the QB throw it just high enough to be out of the DB's reach and just low enough for that beast to catch it. I know, it's me but I think that way.

Dallas is 0-2 against mobile QB's, we will see what happens. Houston is terrible no doubt but they will give their best effort Sunday night. Red-headed step brother and jealous fans will treat this as their Super Bowl.

Dallas should win but not putting anything past this team.......

If your definition of "football player" is a TE that can catch a bad throw while being interfered with, you will be able to count them on one hand.
That wasn't a "bad" throw. It was right at head level and went thru his hands.

From what I've seen so far this season, I am not laying anything on what any team has done with another team.

This season for most of the teams is still on shake down cruise because most treated pretend season games for what they are. HOU has not looked good but neither has DAL. It's away but there will be some DAL fans there but if you gave the HOU fans and citizens their choice of one team to beat this season, that team is coming to town this Sunday. It's the prime time game and the hate is strong with Houstonians. The players will feed off that.

Good in this game = OLine play, General run stopping on D, Kicker
Bad in this game = Pass rush besides Tank, Jaylon Smith (I believe he is still a slow-reacting player, not slow physically), Red zone play calling
Ugly in this game = Safety play all around and Anthony Brown.
Putrid = Jeff Heath.

Teams stopped playing the Cowboys like it was "their Super Bowl" about 20 years ago.

Not the Texans(Houstonians). I was born and raised there, still live in Houston half the year for the past decade. Believe me, this game has been circled on their calendars for a long time :muttley:
