at mid season 5-3 is 5-3, but this team is way better than 2018
the good
offensive production, so far the Boys have the 1# in O yard, up 90y a game from 2018
Marco Colombo, he's made a good RT out of Collins - that's major
moreover, 28 sacks in the first half of 2018 ... 10 in 2019 - that's major
Witten, the man simply makes plays, also makes Colombo's job easier
Dak, one of the most complete QBs in games, he keeps getting better and keeps leading
and BTW, he's leading the NFL in Y / A, runs the O well
the whole Cowboys' defense (almost)
5th in yards allowed, 6th in points ... that's the best of the Garrett era
27% on 3rd down
Bennett, a dirt cheap upgrade with Crawford out
the bad
Chido ...
the drops, I don't recall any Cowboys team with so many dropped passes or interceptions alarming
Conner, better but still gets manhandles times, that's up from ugly his rookie year
DT, - other than Collins, they are often beat
the ugly
the 3 game losing streak, in the JG era that only happened in his only losing season
the team has awesome talent, they loose focus at times, must improve
Coaching Chido, he's an excellent press CB, but sucks in man or zone, good LCBs do all 3 well,
playing him 5y off is crazy, the biggest decisions to be made are at CB
Lewis has everything but deep speed, he can't play 9 ball, if you move him to LCB ... it's cover 2
Brown is a natural LCB, but a penalty machine when last seen playing LCB, another coaching issue
they probably end up playing more press with Chido, it will be easy to read, but harder to beat deep
the Taco thing ... there's still dumb stuff happening at the Star
I'm glad Bennett and Quinn are here for the season, but both are over 30
Officiating, IMO, there is no current definition of pass interference in the NFL
I won't whine about the bias ... player haters exist
but that means they can make ___ up and that don't bode well for the Boys
*** concerns, both injury related
- LVE ... cross them fingers
- Amari is playing in serious pain
