The Good the Bad and Ugly thread

A thread to post some thoughts on the game I want everyone who wants to put their thoughts down

Good
Love how the Offense spread the ball around Today
Mixing the run and the pass
Everyone getting into the mix on offense
Pressure on the QB Leftwich was pounded
A pick even though it was negated it was nice to see a cb make a play on the ball
Special teams a blocked FG and no big ST plays given up
A win on the road
Low Penalties # and Yards

Bad
Tackling was sloppy early
Giving up some passes we should not have that could do with the conditions and game plan because of the conditions but something to watch
Flo just had to get some type of penalty

Ugly
The Weather
The run defense was not good it locked it down a few times but a few to many big plays given up in the run game.

Overall a good win; I have some concerns but it could be game plans due to weather conditions but overall a good game by the boys. I like the way the team played overall and the attitude on the field is different you can see it

Good ... kicking game. Folk was perfect and Buehler was as good as advertised.

Passing the ball around and making big plays on offense.
Buehler and Folk. Both were solid.

Bad

Penalties that costed us big plays.

Defense getting gashed on the run and allowing Bryon to keep the Bucs in it til the end of the 3rd.

3 downs are still a problem.

Bad. No sacks and turnovers on defense
Ugly. The defense against the run and pass. Got to improve here.

Jenkins looked terrible today. Bad coverage on Bryant that allowed a 20 yard gain and a terrible play at the end of the second half that should have been a touchdown.

Of course you had the finger pointing at the end of that play.

Ticky tack penalty on Sensaubaugh for the pick, but he still played bad.

Besides those 2 plays he played very well. He will continue to get better as the season goes on. I thought he played good.

Romo and his ability to rough it out at first and came back strong looking real good by games end
WRs - all getting a shot at the ball and making the most out of them, run after catch
Special Teams looked good

Bad
Oline struggled opening up holes for our running game
Jenkins made a few critical assignment errors and although he had a lot of fire in the game, he generally had a rough game

Ugly
Running Defense was just awful, too many gaps in the line.
Made Leftwich look too good. I know it happens in every game, but I counted atleast three easy crucial catches that were just dropped or poorly thrown by leftwich which a real QB would easily make.

Overall, we did a good job and it was nice to come out with a win like that. The team pulled together and played as a team in the second half and sent a message. They need to study the film for this game and correct what was wrong with it because you know the Giants will be....

I'm not sure what to think of Jenkins or any of the other CB's. It was clear Jenkins expected safety help on a couple of those completions, and it never came.

The coverages (mostly very soft zones) were more to blame than anything else IMO. They got basically no pass rush either.

That said, I do think Jenkins played better than most of the other DB's. The safeties on coverage were bad for most of the game as well. Ken Hamlin is so bad its like he isnt even out there. He's probably the worst starting FS in football.

Defensive coaching in the begining was horrible.
Bucs pretty much ran at us at will

3rd Quarter was non-existent I believe we had very few runs
in the 3rd quarter.

Lack of Pass rush.

21 points is too many for a defensive to give away we don't always score 34 points especially against good teams.

Injuries are becoming a big problem this early, not good.

The Good

Wr's are ok, more than ok they were great.

opposing defenses focused on our running game, and they should since we have a good one, but what that did was open up the passing game.

low penalties

scored 34 points

Offense scored 34 points, you should win everytime that happens.

Beuhler three touchbacks.

Special teams played well.

Barbie played well.

D line got pressure.

Leftwich got pounded, he'll be sore tomorrow.


The bad:

O Line play needs to be better.

ILB did not fill holes particularly well.

No sacks

Secondary needs to tighten up.

Incredibly, no pre-snap penalties on offense (I think), so that's definitely encouraging. The problem is that we won't get away with certain mistakes against better teams.

We didnt have any problems with penalties today. Nobody knows what Adams did, and the call on Sensabaugh was garbage. We only had 4 penaltis in the game.
