The Good: Great win the Cowboys grinded it out so you gotta give them credit especially with all those players out. Kellen Moore once again called a great game mixing it up with the run and pass. The Cowboys were especially effective on the ground rushing for nearly 200 yards. Dak didn't have his normal huge numbers but was efficient. Do I have to remind everyone that Zack Martin is a beast and Steele didn't play all that badly either. All week long I heard about Joey Bosa, and how many times was his named called yesterday? The Cowboys defense all of a sudden is a turnover making machine, they get two more picks yesterday and it should of been three (that was not pass interference, I've seen a lot worse not get called). Last year it took them SEVEN games to get their first turnover and now they already forced six. Micah Parson played pretty well at DE putting the heat on Herbert more than a few times. I can't believe it but there is actually a team out there that is less disciplined than the Cowboys. The Chargers did a great job of racking up the penalties yesterday. Two weeks in a row for Zuerlein well done.
The Bad: The Cowboys once again like last week got off to a hot start scoring on their first possession (first time in 20 games that they've done that) and they looked like they were going to put up another 30 plus points but they weren't able to punch it in do to penalties or missed assignments. There were a couple of missed tackles as well so that really needs to be cleaned up.
The Ugly: How many freakin times are you going to give up a first down on 3 and 10 or even worse 3 and 15 plus. Come on guys get off the field for cryin out loud. McCarthy what the hell are you doing going with a punt block before the half? If you set up a return we get the ball back with plenty of time left and 3 time outs, come on man that was really bad play calling. Those are the kind of decisions that gets this team killed and the clock management at the end of the game reminded me of Jason Garrett but fortunately we survived.
Down the Line: Ok now the Cowboys have something to build off of. This win proved that they can get it done being short handed so that tells me that the Cowboys have depth which is crucial in the NFL. Now the Cowboys are in the easy portion of the schedule (is there such a thing)and won't see a playoff team from last year until they play the Chiefs.

Ugly: Special Teams

The goal of the special teams should be 3 things.

1. Kick the ball between the goal posts

2. punt the ball high and far

3. Don’t get penalties in the return game that screw it up for your offense.

Whatever you’re teaching Bones Fassel should be scrapped and just go with my principles.

Calling for a block on 4th and 20 with two minutes to go before half is one of the worst coaching decisions I’ve ever seen.

I'm sure the ST coach said "let's go rough the punter"
at some point the players are responsible for what happens on the field.
