goose; talked about Commanders, with nfl figuring out free agency, and ones left are either too old, too high, etc... so you can get whatever player you need waiting on those players

goose, on barber, they dont want that distraction with rumor of barber trade, and they belive they are close, so lets not screw it up

goose on hamlin and safety, i think you can draft one, you can get by with a rookie safety;

question asked about wade not wanting to play rookies; or prepare them, every coach doenst want to play rookies because they might get you beat, but you have to trust your kids and prepare them

ol, wr and safety are cowboys primary needs goose says, you have to get offensvie linemen at first 2 rounds, got to be early in this draft goose says

if they take ol in first round they will get top 6th or 7th ranked OT, but they might be able to get a top g or c

talked eagles, yuck

talked Commanders; plenty of needs at ol or qb, because campbell is no john elway, and get young legs on def front

giants coverage; very close to eagles and cowboys, got to address ol with g spots, and james might have hit the wall at rb, they have to draft a rb,

barber question back to goose; wasnt as good asyou hoped it was, but u need to use all rbs in rotation, i would have used choice first, cant kill a rb with 25 carries because he wont be effective, thats it;

I just don't think this team needs a receiver. We need a return guy, if he is a receiver so be it, but we don't need any more pure receivers.

In a perfect world we could pick up a good to great safety(see also:better than hamlin) who can return kickoffs like a mother.

What does this mean Joe? They believe they are close to a trade or close to a super bowl?

The offense failed this team last year. I think we need a legit number two WR but we need to score the points commensurate with the amount of yardage gained. We generated about 500 yards of offense to be number two in the league. We only scored at about 56 points per 1000 yards of offense though. We should have scored 500 points off our yardage last year not in the 300s. That mitigates against the OL being the complete culprit. We got the yardage but not the points. Some of that is red zone offense and some of that has to be on the WRs.

What if, and just hear me out now..what if the legit number two WR is already on this team, and his name is Roy Williams? I mean, he can't play much worse than last year. I'm not holding my breath on this, but it could actually happen that he plays better than last year.

no one likes it when I say it, but Romo needs to trust Williams.

We have two legit number ones on the roster. Beyond legit in my opinion.

Tony Romo and Roy Williams need to get on the same page. Screw some new kid coming in, Roy Williams is a player.

We don't need more receivers, we need these players to get right together. We really need a dynamic returner. It's been a problem forever.

I think Roy Williams can contribute more, but in the end, trust is earned. This is not so much on Romo as many want to suggest. It's on Roy first and foremost. If Roy Williams wants Romo to dial 9-11 then maybe he cna start by lighting a fire under his own *** first by getting with the program.

It's not impossible that RW11 turns it around but I think it is pretty unlikely. I think there is more of a chance that Ogletree ends up being a good #2 WR next year than there is of RW becoming one.

It'd be nice to get a WR who could function as PR/KR for a year before competing for the #2 spot. Hopefully a guy drops to us in the 2nd or 3rd round who fits the bill. If the FO is high enough on KO then I would suggest we try to find a CB/FS hybrid type player who can return kicks.

I agree the offense was a problem...but not because of the reason many think. We have a terrible return game...which meant the offense have to generate longer drives to score points....hence the ton of yards. But drives/playbook bogged down because of how hard we had to work to get to the opponents 30 yard line. We also had a lot of yards on offense because we had a lot of penalties...which also forced us in to bad down and distances. The OL was also bad in short yardage, which affected points. And our FG kicking was bad which affected points. And lastly, our MOST explosive players did not touch the ball enough...too many touches for Witten and Barber. Not enough for guys that have a better chance of getting in the endzone. We ALL love Wittne. But he touches the ball too much for someone who cannot get in the endzone. And frankly, there is some truth to the theories out there that teams ALLOW Dallas to go to Witten. Before you take me to the gallows....I think Witten will be in the HOF one day, but again, teams know they can get him on the ground when he catches it. Tony has to develop better chemistry with Roy. Martellus Bennet HAS to become more reliable. You cannot have an offense that is heavy on handing off to Barber and throwing to Witten.

Return game is not a huge factor- the difference is only 5 yds. Penalties and short yardage failures are the BIG factors. We probably left at least 10 TDs because of them. Add to that the late season failure of the kicking game and there you are.

I do. We have Miles Austin who has had ONE breakout season. Miles right now is our best WR hands down. Let's just hope he can continue this trend and become one of the elite WR's year in and year out.

Then we have Roy. Nobody trusts him at this point. Not sure what we'll get this year. Hopefully some production. Crayton is basically our 2nd and 3rd WR and seems to get better each year.

Ogletree is an unknown to this point. Looks like a keeper, but I still need to see some more playing time and involvement.

After that? Sam Hurd? He hasn't done squat in 4 seasons. Manuel Johnson? Practice squad. Jesse Holley? Okay.

Cowboys definitely could use another WR in the top half of the draft.

Yes, but that comes with a condition, especially if that player starts.

Then there would be paranoia about him getting hurt returning kickoffs or punts (see Jones, Felix or Newman, Terence for further reference).

Agreed across the board. I would not stop thinking Ogletree, Hurd (baha), Johnson (heehee) and Holley (snicker) are solutions for the future. If there is an opportunity to take an elite WR, we should jump all over it.

Can you imagine an Austin/Dez Bryant/Witten combination? I can and it is very arousing.

I agree with him about the Giants. They have a solid roster.
