...in this game is Terry Glenn. Yeah, teams are doing more to try to take him away but we have to get him more involved down the field. That's what made this offense so dynamic earlier in the year. Yes, there are some protection concerns and we may have some sacks. But overall I expect Drew to play well in this game. I expect JJ to have a solid game. But we need a 100 yards out to TG to win this one IMO.

Agree?

Talking to people that were at a couple of the games, they say that he is open quite a bit, but he hasn't been the receiver who gets the first look....ie, the play was designed to go to a different person.

I'd just like our tackles to step up.

Its not like he's dropping passes! From what I hear he gets open every game and doesn't get thrown too much. He blocks on running plays and is a proven deep threat...I think you gotta look elsewhere guys.

Depends - if Crayton is back and they double Glenn, we'll scorch them on crossing patterns. When they cheat back into the seams, Glenn will use his double move and make them pay.

See why Crayton is so important to this offense? Notice that when Glenn went down last year, our offense started to wane. Notice that when Crayton when down this year, our offense started to wane.

Yeah Crayton's loss was huge. Not only in the passing game but the running game as well. I really hope he plays sunday against the giants.

Didn't he drop one of the first pass plays on Thanksgiving?

Agreed!

It's frustrating to read the reports of fans who have been at the games and come back with 'he's always open'. I don't know what the issues are, if the re-training of Bledsoe to make his reads bottom up is responsible for Drew's not going to him first more, if he's simply not making his reads fast enough, if
the oline issues are the key, but yeah, down this stretch I don't see us being successful if we can't scare defenders out of the the box with a deep threat.

Left to his own devices, Drew, imo would be doing what he said he could do after a preseason game last summer.."playing catch with Terry Glenn all day". But that is not what Bill wants. Both for TOP reasons, and the need to establish a run game so play action to Glenn CAN be effective.

As CR said, Crayton's return could be big. And yeah Junk, he dropped a deflected pass and that final ill advised third and one audible. I need to go see whether they've been calculated as 'official drops' at the stats site so I can have a good day today or not. :D

We shall see.

Ok, let me rephrase my point because I don't think most are getting me: I'm not dissing Glenn, I'm saying he has to be a bigger part of the plan and that more balls need to go his way despite the threat of the pass rush. I think back to the 1st Philly game and Glenn set the tone and really dominated in that game. I haven't seen the same offensive output since (other than AZ) and IMO it's because we're not utilizing Glenn enough. Think teams aren't aware of Marvin Harrison when they play Indy? Didn't stop Manning from going deep to him on the 1st play of the game. Glenn is our Harrison.

We understand, but the OLine still IS the key receivers can't get the ball if Drew is constanly on his back. Glenn is the least of our worries as of now.

It's a rock/hard place thing. We're worried about protection so we don't throw downfield much, we don't throw downfield much so teams stack the line. JJ not being a serious threat to break a long one is also allowing teams to play more pressure also.

o line and dline.only people i have a problem with right now

Completely agree - OLine needs to have a huge game and they will be tested. If Bledoe gets protection and the Oline can open some holes for JJ/MBIII we'll have a good day.

On the defensive side - Fujita/Burnett need to play better.

I agree. I suspect Terry was at least one of the guys Parcells had in mind when he said that some of his vets needed to re-step up their games.
