The BP haters are just like the BP homers. Neither one will give credit or blame fairly.

BP builds teams. That has been proven and accepted by all except hack writers and blog posters. He also wears on people quickly and 3-4 years is the best you can hope for before things start getting nasty.

He is prickly and has a massive ego. He is also acknowledged as someone who truly has a masters degree in football.

He has NEVER failed to take a team and make it into a winner. AND most of those teams remained competitive years after he left.

So he WILL improve the Dolphins quite a bit. HE WILL make them competitive and leave a solid organization when he goes.
Yes, Miami struck gold on this hire. They will be competing for the playoffs in 2 seasons imo.

The Patriots need some competition and Parcells will help to provide it. Good hire for the Dolphins IMO.

In honor of the Christmas spirit, I say "humbug".

If you helped build something and it grows and becomes successful, even after you (voluntarily) leave, why would you not be proud? And if you helped choose many of the players on the roster, and personally coached many of them as rookies, and helped them learn what it takes to become true professionals, wouldn't any decent person want them to continue to grow and succeed?

I think so and I think Bill Parcells loves the Cowboys and the year they are having!

The AFC East was actually very tough in the few years after Parcells left.(Indianapolis, New England and Miami were all tough) Groh's first year they did come close to making the playoffs, only a loss in the final week cost them a spot. They improved a game over the previous season. How is that collapsing?

I already said collpasing was a strong word. They were sub-par.

They lost 6 of their last nine games. So it isn't about one final loss costing them a spot. It was the fact that they couldn't get one more win out of 6 of their final 9 games that cost them a spot. Their locker room was in shambles and Groh didn't last another year. Parcells bolted that very year.

In 2001 they finished 3rd with a 10-6 record. That mean it was a tough division. So Hermie overturned 25 percent of the roster .

Who were the best players on Edwards teams? John Abraham, Lavernaeus Coles, Vinny Testaverde, Curtis Martin, Kevin Mawae, Aaron Glenn, Wayne Chrebet(i.e Parcells players)

He overturned 25 percent of the roster his first year, and 25 percent of his roster the second year. And those were the same guys playing when Herm Edwards was fired and the Jets went 4-12 and 6-10.

During the Parcells era, Parcells was coaching against the likes of Jim Mora and Pete Carroll. It was only when Parcells had already left, did the Patriots get Bellichek. Even he sucked his first year there. So Parcells was pretty much in 3rd place in a division that would consistently get blown out by a rival division opponent in the play-offs.

As I said, sub-par.
