Now you know why I get in a crappy mood so often.

Was in Morgantown last week. The only place I really went was to a Starbucks but gotta say, I was pretty happy when I got that coffee. I think WV being depressed is a myth. They looked OK to me.

Summer's great... No question, but to short-change Fall and Spring... Well anyone that does that probably hasn't enjoyed too many Falls and Springs.

i so agree with this. even appreciating a good day after a few rainy days is worth it. I love the change of seasons, the change of scenery. something to behold most times.

I can drive there in about 1/2 hour. You are not missing anything.

The only good thing in that area is a place that used to be a ammunition storage area that everybody calls TNT and the only good thing about it is the multitude of small fishing ponds.

The Fall is actually pretty spectacular in West Virginia.

That corridor of Penn., Ohio, and WVa does not get as much sunshine as I would prefer, but WVa and Western Virginia can be really beauiful at certain times of year.

Like I said, I think some of this happiness stuff comes, in part, from economics. Most of those top ten states are doing better. Mostly lower rates crime too...to go with the scenery.

Speaking for myself, I enjoy the change in seasons. Yeah, winter sucks, but our Spring, Summer and Fall our outstanding.

It's the change in seasons.

For folks like yourself that live in a state where there isn't much of a change from one season to another, you have no idea what you're missing.

I absolutely love all 4 seasons!

I find it facinating to witness each one change into the next.

I might feel different if we had the winters that northern states do. Ours are normally around 3 months.

I drive a suburban, .. and have a tractor with a snow plow, so it's no big deal when it snows. Just beautiful.

Not a one person spoke to me and seemed even a little depressed. If it's one of the most depressed places in America, we are doing just fine.

I have to say that most everybody I had opportunity to talk with, while there, was exceptionally polite, up beat and as helpful as they could be.

I know you don't see what's behind the curtains a lot of times but I have not one negative thing to say, at all, about the folks in WV.

And obviously from that list, it's not.

New York state probably gets a screw job on the ratings due to NYC. That's an entirely different "world" down that way and should be ranked separately as to not drag all the rest of us down with'em.

You can have all the seasons and still get great weather.

Just something I noticed likely on having lived in a humid area and then moved to the mountain west where there is very little humidity at all.

Humidity sucks.
