The hard knocks jinx

Every time hardknocks shows up at the star the whole team goes to hell. They start clowning, getting lazy, spending more time trying to look good on camera. Not doing what they need to do. Jerry gets a big head. It happens every time. Opinions?

My opinion has always remained unchanged concerning Hard Knocks and this franchise's involvement with the series (from December 29, 2008/link):

"Hard Knocks was a totally unnecessary distraction for the team. The team should have been preparing itself completely without cameramen having opportunities to catch players being berated by coaches or replaying slow motion jogging along a shoreline (like, what the hell did that have to do with training camp in the first place?). Jerry Jones allowed the team to be placed beneath a spotlight which should've never been placed there in the first place. It set a bad example which promoted premature expectations for the season to come. That mistake can be laid solely at Jones' feet."​

I could not care less when filming takes place throughout any year. The series is another example of what this franchise never needs. It is an intangible factor blocking the creation of a truly championship-caliber competing culture.

The series and franchise can have another joint venture after Dallas appears in another Super Bowl. And no one knows when that will ever happen again (if ever).

The team goes to hell every season for the past 30 years ........ Hard Knocks (which I never watch) just puts even more of a spotlight on it.

My opinion is they do this even when hard knocks isn’t around. Cowboys have their own cameras around them. Cowboys do their own content as well.
