so i was having a discussion with my co-worker who has an internship with scout.com or something and wants to be a sports writer, anyway he at least can talk football but in this convo he said that Anthony Spencer was looking like a bust, i said not a bust but that so far has not (quite) lived up to expectations but that he is actually doing really well, anyway he went on to say that bobby carpenter(did I mention he is an Ohio state homer?) was actually having a better season!
I argued of course that he is the nickle linebacker for a reason and that yeah he might be having a solid season as such but that he has been the major bust so far. i had to tell him when he was drafted as he thought he was a 3rd rounder. this was all just the tip of the iceberg.
in this same convo he bashed romo and said he is not even a top ten QB(he is a pedigree snob) he also said that the reason his stats are good( he is also a stat guy) is because his receivers have helped him out alot( cause all of brady/manning/mcnabb/brees TDs are caught in the end zone right?) he said that witten is not the best TE(you could make the argument for some but..) sited Owen Daniels as being better, not the best but just saying he is better, he said UT players don't do well in the NFL siting Roy(we were going back and forth between college and NFL) said that miles was a flash in the pan, compared jerry to Snyder, and i cant even remember what else.
he also said he is a cowboy fan(yeah right) but that the cowboys would not go anywhere with the current team and management in place. needless to say it was a long 6 hour overnight shift not to mention that my other co workers are cowboy haters as well and while they can add nothing intelligent to the conversation it is really annoying that whenever he would make a point they would chime in with something generic like "thats why they/he sucks"
i know embrace the hate but this is bad, this is a future sports writer and though his passion is college ball he is still getting a head start in his anti cowboy bias. just thought I'd share.
