I guess he should of left the money on the table so he could get an improved team. That worked wonders for Brady as the franchise underpaid him then let his 2 best WRs go and is way under the salary cap. Making smart business decisions doesnt mean you dont care about the team. NO player in the league works as hard as Manning he deserves to be the highest paid player in the league he is the best player in the league. I dont remember Troy, Irvin, Deion or Emmitt lining up to give money back or take less then they deserved either. No one with half a brain would.
Apples & oranges. The triplets made most of their money prior to the salary cap. I also don't remember any of them getting close to $50 million in their original deal.
No, he didn't leave money on the table, that is his choice, but it is to the detriment of the team. Don't use the arguemant that he doesn't have the players around him on defense that others do, because that is his fault, and his alone.
I also think it's funny how everyone sings praises about him when he is calling out plays and audibling, like he's great. But in the Pittsburgh game in the playoffs when he was calling out the audibles, he had no problem calling out the o-line when he would get sacked. Seems to me he can take the praise, but not the criticizm.
Don't get me wrong on this issue, he is a great football player on the field, maybe the best in the league. But his greediness hurts his team and for that reason, I hope he never sees a lombardi.
