Give me a break, if Manning had 1/2 the defense or offensive line that Brady and Big Ben had they would of won 4 Super Bowls by now. He is a great player but he is still only 1 player. Look at Troy after the Oline went to crap and he lost Irvin, there is only so much 1 player can do.

No way I can hate some as good as him who works as hard as him and is a genuine good guy, he is a great player and a great role model.
are you joking? manning never even gets touched. they have had the best pass-blocking line for the last 3 years

Go watch the Pittsburgh playoff game again and tell me he never gets touched. One of the reasons he doesnt get touched is because he knows what the defense is doing and where they are coming from and he is smart enough to step ups, side step the defenders or just get rid of the ball before they can get to him. Kind of like how the Oline looks 10 times better now that Romo is back there making good quick throws when need be.

I don't hate Archie, Peyton or Eli... although I'm not crazy about Eli and Archie. I wasn't too impressed with what they did to San Diego on draft day. I'm very glad that the Giants got Eli and not Phillip Rivers. I think Rivers has the intagibles that are going to make him a very successful QB for a long time. Moxie, if you will.

Eli doesn't. He got the physical tools and will be a decent QB for sure... but Rivers will be very good IMO... and I'm just glad that NY didn't get Rivers.

The whole family is a classy group, if you ask me, with Peyton being a notch above the others in every aspect. I can't hate them, even if I wanted to.

When Indy beat Denver in Denver earlier this year, they interviewed Manning after the game. All he did was talk about what great fans they had in Denver and what a great atmosphere for football there was there and what a great stadium. He talked about what a good team Denver had and how lucky he felt to be able to sneak out with a victory.

A superstar after a big victory over a conference rival on the road and all he talks about is how great everything Denver is? How can you not like that humbleness and the respect he showed for his opponent?

Peyton is a record breaker. He's a sure fire hall of famer and the biggest superstar in the biggest sport in the biggest nation in the world... and if you listen to him talk, you'd never know it. He's the guy next door. You'd have to manufacture any hate for him and it wouldn't be easy.

That statement right there is why I don't like Peyton. He does have a squeeky clean image and everybody seems to love him, but everything about him screams "me" vs. "team". There is a reason he does not have a defense, could it be because he counts almost $16 million towards his teams cap each year. He is just selfish. He got every penny of $50 million rookie contract then basically held Indy hostage to pay him another $99 million over 6 years. Did he really need another $99 million? That doesn't include his endosements, which judging by a typical Sunday, he has a ton of them. That screams "ME".

You also mentioned Brady, he had a crappy rookie contract as a 6th round choice. Then he signed a contract extension for 6 years, $60 million. He could have gotten more, but he would rather them put more money into the team. An extra $6 million a year can get you some decent talent in this league.

Eli showed it was all about him also on draft day, that's why I hope that neither of the Manning boys get a trophy.

I guess he should of left the money on the table so he could get an improved team. That worked wonders for Brady as the franchise underpaid him then let his 2 best WRs go and is way under the salary cap. Making smart business decisions doesnt mean you dont care about the team. NO player in the league works as hard as Manning he deserves to be the highest paid player in the league he is the best player in the league. I dont remember Troy, Irvin, Deion or Emmitt lining up to give money back or take less then they deserved either. No one with half a brain would.

The only thing out of Indiana I hate(or should I say beginning to hate) is John Mellencamp and them gosh dern Chevrolet commercials.

As far as Peyton, it's been a privilage to be able to watch a consumate profesional ply his wares. And I don't even know what consumate means.

Apples & oranges. The triplets made most of their money prior to the salary cap. I also don't remember any of them getting close to $50 million in their original deal.

No, he didn't leave money on the table, that is his choice, but it is to the detriment of the team. Don't use the arguemant that he doesn't have the players around him on defense that others do, because that is his fault, and his alone.

I also think it's funny how everyone sings praises about him when he is calling out plays and audibling, like he's great. But in the Pittsburgh game in the playoffs when he was calling out the audibles, he had no problem calling out the o-line when he would get sacked. Seems to me he can take the praise, but not the criticizm.

Don't get me wrong on this issue, he is a great football player on the field, maybe the best in the league. But his greediness hurts his team and for that reason, I hope he never sees a lombardi.

Dude no offense, but how do you get to be 46 and not know what consumate means?

Consumate means to have intercourse.

Consumate means to have intercourse.

You realize words sometimes have more than 1 meaning, right? He used it as an adj, not a verb, look below.

con·sum·mate (kŏn'sə-māt')
pron.gif

tr.v., -mat·ed, -mat·ing, -mates.
    1. To bring to completion or fruition; conclude: consummate a business transaction.
    2. To realize or achieve; fulfill: a dream that was finally consummated with the publication of her first book.
    1. To complete (a marriage) with the first act of sexual intercourse after the ceremony.
    2. To fulfill (a sexual desire or attraction) especially by intercourse.
adj. (kən-sŭm'ĭt, kŏn'sə-mət)
  1. Complete or perfect in every respect: consummate happiness. See synonyms at perfect.
  2. Supremely accomplished or skilled: “Sargent was now a consummate master of brushwork” (Roberta Smith).
  3. Complete; utter: a consummate bore.

It was a joke. The way it was used in the sentence was clearly not intended as intercourse... which is why I was poking fun at myself.

I suppose I should've used a smiley or two...:)

This is really silly!

How could you hate the greatest QB to walk the face of the earth?

There will never be another human being to grace us fans with his superior talent...

I hope someone saves his DNA...
