Well, no longer must we act ashamed that we fleeced the Vikings on this trade.

We received 12 players/picks and so did they....

From ESPN.com

In the just-released book "Breaking Free", former NFL running back Herschel Walker delves into his excruciating struggles with dissociative identity disorder, saying he tried to manage a dozen alternate personalities and that the condition nearly drove him to suicide.

Walker will be interviewed on ABC Nightline this evening....FYI

We didn't receive that many players/picks....Jimmy turned them in to that many picks/players......but we still fleeced them :muttley:

1) LB Jesse Solomon
2) LB David Howard
3) CB Isaac Holt
7) Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (11)
8) Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1991 (conditional) - (38)
9) Minnesota's 1st round pick in 1993 (conditional) - (13)
10) Minnesota's 2nd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (40)
11) Minnesota's 3rd round pick in 1992 (conditional) - (71)

Geesh...Okay...11.

But then again, maybe Walker lied about one of his 'identities'...

Did you ever think of that? :)

LOL...ouch.

FWII, I always thought that Herschel was a great guy and an outstanding RB. Too bad he wasted his best years rolling up yards (and carries) in the USFL (or was it WFL?).

Tough luck for Lynn and the Vikings that out of all twelve... they got the crappy Herschel. That would be the "Tiny Tim" Herschel, who liked to "tiptoe through the OL", of course.

:p:

Well, when you're 12 different guys one's bound to be great.

Herschel was on ESPN's first take last week and looked great.

I always really liked the guy.

I saw him on ESPN for the torch run thing. He hasn't aged a day IMO.

Herschel has always been a physical freak.

The personality thing makes him even more amazing.

He's like a super hero or something.

the condition was tied to the players they got off the Minnesota roster...I cant recall all the details, but if they released a guy they got the pick (or something along those lines)

there were two other players he didnt list...one was RB Darrin Nelson, who refused to report...I cant remember who the other was.

He certainly was for Bulldog Nation!

This explains how he is still the only player in NFL history to gain more than 10,000 yards from scrimmage and 5,000 return yards. That after gaining about 5,500 more yards in the USFL. There was more than one of them!

Anyone remember the story where Herschel was found sleeping in his car with the vehicle running - in his garage?

He denied that it was a suicide attempt, but maybe it was.

As for the "Great Train Robbery," I can recall that some in the media actually criticized the Cowboys.

And, imagine, Lynn made the trade thinking we would be so enamored with Issac Holt, Darrin Nelson, Jessie Solomon et.al. that the Cowboys would retain them and not the 1st, 2nd and 3rd round draft picks. :lmao2: :lmao2: :lmao: :lmao:
