There was a play where a linebacker came and lit up Doug Free, peeling him off his block, and causing two free rushers to the QB. You could tell this was a planned play, and seemed effective. I guess its illegal if he goes in low, but clean if he takes him high. Seems like we should try that against Ware's matchup.

Crazy thing is the guy player who knocked Free on his keester is only 224 lbs. Talk about leverage!

Remember what Brandon Jacobs said to RW31. In essence hits always look better when someone is not looking. Contrary to popular belief if you anchor from an attack from the front but get blasted from the side unaware it will always look bad.

I'm not gonna lie.. I kinda enjoyed watching him get clocked.

I still hold a grudge from last year.

That hit on Free was absolutely hilarious... Course, Romo getting sandwiched ? Not so much.

Only Callahan's second season with the team. Amazing how he's getting this pile of garbage to play like a pretty decent OL, eh?

Nate seem to think that as well after the game. He commended the OL on the job they did pass blocking. On the play that is being mentioned on this play Free was engaged with the defender and was hit from the side and yet Romo still had time he held the ball and took the hit.

If an O lineman is engaged with a defender and another O lineman blocks the same defender LOW, then yeah it's a penalty. Maybe not for a pick though.
they just cant go low....otherwise there would be no such thing as a double team lol

Force = Mass x Acceleration. The defender had a clean shot at full speed while free was engaged with another player

I thought that was really cleaver by the Giants and have never seen anything like it. Thoughts on the play?

Couple of thoughts on the play
-Almost any linemen would get taken out in that situation. He was engaged and focused on the defender in front of him.
-There wasn't, nor should there be anything illegal about that play. Had he gone low, I would hope it would be a penalty/ejection, but he went high.
-If you design a blitz like that, you need some great athletes to ensure they get to the QB despite the delay and you'll need your secondary to hold, because it still took a bit to develop, which is why I think it very well could've been a spur of the moment decision to take out Free.
