Saturday, I was board so I downloaded the San Fran vs Dallas NFC Championship game 1992. Norv Turner asked Jimmy Johnson how he wanted to play this down since the 9ers were only down by 3. Jimmy said to Norv, I want a touch down. The very next play was a slant to Alvin Harper that went to the 5 yard line. 2 plays later, a touch down.

This is what today reminded me of. Jason Garrett, you're my man now.

Linehan almost cost us this game.

Garrett had coached with balls tonight! Game on the line and he went for it. Loved the call!

We played AWFUL and won.

It reminded me of the 92 game the Cowboys lost to the Eagles but we gutted this one out!

Yeah there was no rhythm to our playcalling until late. We stole that win for sure

I've always supported JG even though I've had my doubts from time to time. Yes, the Cowboys won today and he deserves a ton of credit, but he has to get a better feel for the game the way Jimmy Jenius had. 1st and goal from 3 yard line with a 1:40 seconds left and 3 timeouts, the NFL's leading rusher and the best offensive line in the league, you order your offensive coordinator to run the ball, not pass it 3 times. Jimmah Jenius used to let Norv do his thing but always kept him in check when necessary. That's my only criticism of JG.

Riverboat Red did his thing tonight and has his team at 6-1. Good stuff...would like to see Dallas run more with that dominant OL and top tier rookie RB inside the 10 yd line though. But...that is nitpicking. He is what his record this season says he is...a winning HC.

There was some ugly play calling out there tonight and the team came out flat, but yes Garrett deserves huge credit for some gutsy calls. He didn't want the Philly offense going back onto the field with 4 downs to get in FG range, so he went for the throat. Good Job.

3 years ago, we ripped Jason Garrett a new one. He's so soft, he has not guts. Where has this Jason Garrett been?
That's why I made the thread. If you pull that off you get the credit, even the WR pass almost swung the game

Some play calls were head scratchers, but the fake punt and 4th down gamble were huge in the outcome. If either failed Garrett would've been torn to shreds, but the fake produced 3 points, the 4th down conversion led to the winning TD.
People said it was desperate. It felt panic-y I'll admit. But that game felt totally lost at 20-10. They were sleep walking. It had huge reward and little risk honestly. This game felt very important and not just in the standings

It took a while for the clapping to find its groove. He has a head of steam and is running downhill.

Meanwhile, Pederson is getting torched for not kicking that field goal.

I thought the fake punt was a busted play for a split second! Haven't seen the Cowboys do a fake punt in many years. Great call by Garrett! Chris Jones as some pretty good wheels.
