I don't like JG as a head coach but I feel like he would actually do well in a GM type position. He'd be better than what we currently have.

He'd have time to think about his decisions, and it's the high pressure, spur of the moment choices that seem to befuddle him most.

Parcells said that every coach has an expiration date with a particular organization. Garrett has become stale.

Keeping him in a management role wouldn't improve the culture around here.

If Jerry wants to keep Garrett in his life, he should invite him over for Thanksgiving and XMas, not keep him on the Cowboys payroll.

We all know JJones doesn't want to fire JGarrett and go thru the courtship of another Head Coach

He made his decision to make JGarrett his Tom Landry or Coach for Life

But the game has passed him by and a change is needed

Why not make JGarrett the Team President/GM and hire Lincoln Riley while he is still available

Jerry keeps his boy and Riley gets to move the team into the 21st Century

to do so would be to put son Stephen underneath garrett on the totem. not likely something jerry would do. not likely something Stephen would accept. I don't think Stephen has nearly the same opinion of garrett as does his daddy.

I idolized Landry, but I thought it was time for him to ride off into the sunset. I just thought he should have been given a chance to do it with the respect and dignity he had earned.

Garrett has run his coarse here. I don't see a scenario where they move him to another role within to bring in another HC. Definitely not coaching staff wise for sure, if we get a new HC with his staff already selected from him we're basically getting a puppet master sequel. Will McClay has certainly earned a GM job way before Garrett should.

So, when did Garrett achieve any success? Landry, Parcells and Holmgren all have numerous playoff appearances and wins and all have coached a SB champion. Garrett has one playoff win in 8 years. A performance record like Garrett's will get you fired in the NFL, not kicked upstairs.
