I've been out of the loop the last 3-4 days and was just getting updates on this. Does this concern anyone else considering I figured we drafted him to be the backup and get some real playing time considering Murray's injury history? I didn't see anything else the last 2 pages and gate to see a guy miss reps

Cowboys rookie RB Joseph Randle will be "limited" until training camp after undergoing right thumb surgery.
It's another blow to an already suspect Dallas rookie class. Owner Jerry Jones insists the Cowboys "knew Randle's situation" before drafting him, but essentially missing the entire offseason won't help his chances of showing reliability to the coaches. Straight-linish and lacking elusiveness, Randle's best attribute is receiving ability. He can't catch with a surgically repaired thumb.

First off, I'm not sure why Dallas has a "suspect" rookie class, or what other blows the writer is talking about. Secondly, JJ or Stephen or somebody talked about the thumb injury being a minor setback on draft day. So, they were obviously aware of the situation.

I don't pay attention to that talk. Minor or not I just get worried about rookies missing reps and not getting up to speed. In sure with camp he'll be fine but I don't want something that lingers.. Especially hand issues on RBs

Not a big deal. He'll be ready by TC. It's a thumb injury.

If you can't catch with a surgically repaired thumb, you might want to sue the surgeon.

Plug and play position. Anywhere else on the field and it'd be a bigger deal. If he doesn't have a good rookie year it will be because he simply wasn't good enough or more injuries occurred, not because he missed on field work at OTAs in the spring.

His agent was on, was it Talking Cowboys?, right after the draft, and he confirmed that the thumb injury was something they'd disclosed 'in good faith' to a handful of teams who'd shown a lot of interest in Randle. Dallas was one of those teams, apparently.

He said, iirc, it was something that'd last about 5 weeks, and that he'd be fine by camp.

It is the reason that they were confident that he would be available in the 5th round; otherwise, they might have drafted him earlier. The scuttlebutt weeks before the draft was that he was one of their favorites.

RB is one of the easiest positions to transition from college to the NFL.

Leg issues on RBs can be the real set back, no so much hand issues they can usually play through those.

Your only issue with Joseph Randle is transparent and agenda biased.

Meanwhile the UDFA RB Lawrence is having a nice Mini-Camp.

What are you talking about? I've been pretty objective and straight forward on this board with no agenda. Maybe you should read a little more before rudely jumping to conclusions. I said above I don't listen to the negative comments. Try RIF

As for hand injuries, it comes down to taking handoffs, fumble issues and catching a ball. But go ahead with your conspiracies
