The KC Game Strategy

I think the Chiefs will do what they do but will try to use our aggression to beat ourselves. We cannot beat ourselves. Meaning, don't get taunting flags, late hits, crap like that. KC is great at getting the refs to see things there way each week. We can't feed the beast tomorrow. Chiefs don't need any help. I believe they are going to let our own emotion work against us. We must remain calm cool , collected. Do what we do. That's my take. Play in control. Do not let them dictate terms.
This is true but one thing people are not talking about enough is we're too focused on how our defense is going to control Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid What about our offensive line blocking long enough for Prescott to have time to throw down the field to Pickens and Lamb?

Spagnola is just as scary..IMHO

I'm more worried about people thinking Guyton is out and Nate Thomas in that's supposed to be great is it I know Guyton's not been perfect but he was the starter Now we're putting in a backup and now who's his backup what if he gets hurt in the game and what if both sides like steal and Thomas are getting owned How is Prescott gonna run this offense we've seen this already against Denver and then the Cardinals they had no time to set up any big throws they were getting sacked and hit and they could barely run the game we just saw that mess that wasn't that long ago my friends.

So what do you think about Nate Thomas how do you think they're gonna handle Spagnola crazy defensive calls I mean the guy is really good at disguises and runs multiple sets and has a lot of eye candy on that side of the ball i'm just curious what people think about how our tackles are gonna handle it?

We gonna be shrunk down to like the Cardinals game or the Denver game again and maybe this time our defense plays a little bit better but we can have our offensive line getting beat down and trying to check down screens and get rid of the ball so fast you're getting three yards a play and you can't move and you're punting and then the mistakes start and man it can go on a really bad Backside when that happens.

That is what I said with those two games our offensive line is why this offense didn't look right for two weeks And I know Prescott makes up for a lot of it he does move around enough and he slides enough that in some games like I believe one of those games he was sacked 5 times it could have been 10..

Was under a lot more pressure against the Eagles than it shows on paper literally only one sack yeah right he was throwing the ball so fast he had guys in his face when he was releasing the ball If he doesn't play like he did I guess the Eagles and like he did against the Packers where he's just getting rid of the ball fast enough but has the courage enough to hold it till the very last minute and take those hits then those games wouldn't have been like they were they would have been like Denver and the Cardinals..

I'm more concerned about our offense and how that offensive line's gonna handle Spagnola's defense..... I already understand Patrick Mahomes probably gonna make it a long day for our defense but that's why I'm more concerned about our offense...

Our fans don't understand this. If Dak does not have time and makes quick throws, they will say his arms sucks and he can't throw deep any more and call him check down Prescott.

That is true it's not just a checkdowns but if the offense isn't moving you're going to blame him But they don't give them enough respect for standing in there under pressure I don't know how many balls he got down the field of Pickens on some of those big plays go back and rewatch them there was a dude literally almost too close for him to follow through and he still got the ball there he stayed there he stood in and took the hit...

He should get a lot more credit this year for the courage in the pocket being able to make people miss still hit guys down the field when the lines not blocking well but most of those games where he didn't play well the line was absolutely garbage there were sometimes two guys coming free in the Denver and the Cardinals games literally right at him at the snap the guys completely whipped on their blocks and he gets all the What's wrong with our offense and his name comes up first..

It's like the Panthers game he played great most of that whole entire game got us a nice lead Our defense gives up the lead and all they could talk about is how he should have played better on the last two drives like it's all his fault that none of the play calls worked but those were screens not called by him those passes were called by the offensive coordinator who is also our head coach but they were called that way because the line wasn't blocking that well as good as our interior defensive line has been our tackles have been like swinging gates on a lot of these plays and we're lucky that Prescott played well under pressure..

Ding ding ding.
Well so can Prescott most good quarterbacks in this league you give them enough time they'll carve you up I mean isn't that what it looked like when we allowed a lot of those backups to look better against us because we weren't getting any pressure almost none Our defense was allowing guys like Brisett to look like a starting quarterback..

So yeah some quarterbacks play better than others with pressure prescott does a good job playing with pressure in his face but you allow him a little bit more time he will carve you up all day long That's pretty much the game plan Stop the run Set up play action but you gotta keep your quarterback clean or it's gonna be a long day.. So yes vice versa You gotta get to the quarterback move him off his spot That will definitely help your defense...

The Refs are great at favoring KC. This year seems different. Although I did see another pick six by Molehill called back again.
We SHOULD be very aware of the above hopefully and take it into account. We need one of our best games of the year to be in it late in the game or it might be ugly by half. Start fast.

I believe this will be a lower scoring game, if we want a chance to win. KC has a great defense.

We need to kick FG's and dominate field position.

This game will be won on Soecial Teams - Aubrey, Anger and hopefully Turpin shows up.

This isn’t the game to play man.. #15 will carve us up like a thanksgiving turkey if they do. This is the game to play nothing but zone and offer up some simulated blitzes. If they don’t we lose this game.. the chiefs are very beatable if the approach is right. Zone! Zone! Zone!
What!
We need to mix it up. Try to slow down Mahomes thought process just a little bit.

The most important thing, by far though for our Defense, is we need to get quick pressure on Mahomes consistently! Eberflus is going to need to put some smart blitz packages together. Also when we blitz the DB’s need to know this, and play tight coverage off the snap, not give big cushions for easy completions. So many defensives blitz and their DB’s are playing soft. Gotta play smart vs KC. Everyone on D needs to be on the same page!!!!

Consistently collapsing the pocket is going to be an issue for Mahomes and force him to run around and make things happen.

Hopefully we don't give up too many big plays on scramble drills.

If Mahomes wants to run, I say light him up early. It will be well worth the 15 yard penalty.

I think we should max protect, especially on passing downs. Keep a TE and back into block. KC likes to blitz with man coverage on passing downs.

Let our 3 receivers try to beat man. The TE and back blocking will give a little more time for them to get open.

If I am Reid, I am testing Dallas's DBs with some deep passes early. If they get lost in zone, then we are off to the races. If not, I'm switching to a West Coast style gameplan after halftime, with under-center runs and quick hitters to exploit their linebackers.

If I am Spagnuolo, I am playing in a 2 high shell all day and rolling attention towards Pickens. Dak can absolutely rain bombs on a defense, so I want to force him to go station-to-station and run the ball more. Just play conservative and trust my talent.

I don't care if we even have a strategy. Jerry has sucker me back in. He's the best GM/owner/wildcatter/herpes guy in the NFL. I'm all in.

Bring in Luepke to block. We really only throw the ball to Pickens, CD and Ferguson for the most part anyway.

Luepke is a good receiver out of the back field and not easy to tackle.

Lots of 21 personnel I think would give Dak time and cause problems for them.

Turpin is basically just a decoy.

Only way to have a chance is to pressure him. Hit him early and often. Harass him.
This. Living in Chiefs Kingdom, I have seen enough of KC's games to see this is how you beat the Chiefs. Mahomes is brilliant when moving out of the pocket, you gotta contain him and rough him up. I would say it's worth getting a penalty (early in the game of course) just to put a little "uh oh" in his head and make him think twice before breaking off. Right now, their O-Line is compromised a bit and he is vulnerable.

Don't let Mahomes take off and use his legs, we did not let that happen with Hurts this recent win.

What!

All I know is that I watched the game between them and the colts.. Indy had them down 20 to 9 going into the 4th quarter. Got cute with the defense and gave up 11 to lose. I’m just going by what I watched.

Well I didn't watch the Colts game that's good information you're saying that when they were playing zone they were holding the Chiefs down and winning the game and when they decided for some reason to go to man they end up losing?

You do realize one thing that we're not a great zone team or at least we weren't and playing zone is what got us in this big hole we're in right now too much zone equal many losses this team doesn't play zone very well or at least it didn't i'm gonna keep saying at least it didn't we played a mixture of all three according to somebody here I think somebody posted something about we played three types of defense mixed it up pretty well and maybe that's what they need to do but I'm not comfortable sitting back in a covered three zone and only having 4 down lineman and all that nonsense because that's what got us at 5-5-1

So I don't know I mean if that's how you're supposed to defend the Chiefs I wouldn't know 'cause I really don't watch those games that close I pretty much only pay attention to my teams in college and the pros so I only know what I see...
The Chiefs moved the ball up and down the field all game. Idiot stuff kept the game close. It was absolute domination except on the scoreboard.
