..dont think 49er's are that smart.. lol.. More like, the run whatever works.
Well thought out post but without sugar coating it. Win up front. Win game. That's it. That's all football will ever be, and all it's ever been.
..yep, game about Trench Warfare.

Very interesting. I imagine you’ll get arguments, probably mostly from people that like to forecast doom and gloom, but I agree with the notion that we shouldn’t get suckered into playing the way they want us to.

Which also plays us right out of our strength, which is pass rushing.

Wile I do agree with the premise to some extent the fact remains that our defense still has to stop the run, that is not a guarantee. I would also state that I would agree with your premise when the run game is clicking away at a typical 4.5 or so YPC. If we can hold them to less than 3 yards per carry it will result in a lot of third and long and will most definitely affect their ability to pass. I they are running for 6 yards per carry they will have a ton of third and short and will most definitely help their passing game. If you eliminate the extremes then I would agree with the premise that the run production isn't what matters it is the run attempts. Perhaps this applies between 4 YPC and 5 YPC. Any productivity above or below that will most definitely start to have an effect on the overall passing game.
