Josh Brown from the Seattle Seahawks is a RFA sign him to a deal Seattle won't match and it will cost us a 7th round pick.

Is that all Brown would cost is a 7th? If that is all that would be a steal.
Cant make many FG from 45+

Overview Field Goals PATS
SPLIT 1-19 20-29 30-39 40-49 50+ TOT PCT AVG LNG XPM XPA PTS
2005 0/0 5/5 4/5 4/7 5/8 18/25 72.0 39.1 55 56 57 110
Career 1/1 17/17 22/25 16/25 7/12 63/80 78.8 36.5 58 144 145 333
Postseason - 2005 0/0 1/1 3/3 1/2 0/2 5/8 62.5 34

Brown did not have as good a year in 2005 as he did in 2004, and that has been his problem in the past -- he has been an inconsistent and streaky kicker. He made good progress in 2004 but then reverted to numbers more like those he had in his rookie year of 2003. He was consistent in the 20-29 and 30-39 yard ranges but struggled in the 40-49 and 50-plus ranges. His percentage dropped overall from .920 in 2004 to .720 in 2005, and he also missed an extra point. He has a strong leg, is solid in his mechanics and has a very good follow though on his kicks. However, Brown is not consistent, gets out of rhythm and will lose his confidence. He needs to be dependable and get back to his 2004 numbers if he wants to be considered one of top kickers in the league year after year.

Well, he was certainly impressive in the Super Bowl. He's definitely our kind of kicker.

why won't the seahawks match a reasonable offer, that we can accept? they have more money than we do under the cap, and their owner is at least ten times wealthier than jerry jones.

My point was He was consistent in the 20-29 and 30-39 yard ranges but struggled in the 40-49 and 50-plus ranges. If we are trading for him and paying big bucks we might as well save money and bring Cundifff back. The last thing we need is a kicker that will "lose his confidence" when Bill is the HC. In case you didnt know not the most supportive and understanding coach in the game. Hope that doesnt shock you.:laugh2:
