Thought I would do a little Tuesday morning math. Just a comparison for yards accrued by Witten through 13 games in 2017 versus the Swaim/Jarwin/Schultz committee through 13 games in 2018. We have given this group a lot of criticism while bemoaning the retirement of J Witt.
So the yardage number through 13 games. Witten, 467 yards and Swaim/Jarwin/Schultz 454. Seems the TE by committee is producing similar stats. Granted Witt had 5 TD's in 2017. Not all red zone either. I think it was 3 red zone TD's.
I know I'm gonna get slammed for saying this BUT I think both Jarwin and Schultz have a lot of upside. Certainly more than Witt at the end of his career. I'm not crying for a TE in the second round of the draft in 2019. I want to see what Schultz does with an off season of strength and conditioning as much as I want to see it with Connor Williams.I like Swaim/Jarwin/Schultz's game and they're young and evolving not old and devolving (like Witt and I)
In the words of the WHO... the kids are all right
