Honestly, what is best for this franchise now. Do we want to lose out to almost guarantee Garrett's exit or barely squeeze in to get whooped in the first game?
I know, nothing will change with Jerry being in charge but I think change is needed, both on offense and defense.
The defense is historically bad but have had to deal with an insane amount of injuries. But, still questioning the change to the 4-3. Dallas spent a lot of resources on corners who excel in man yet they aren't utilized that way. The players we had up front were all question marks and it was dumb to rely on them to get or stay healthy. Jerry fired Ryan a year too early IMO.
What is the excuse for the offense? They are pretty healthy but it is a hit or miss, no sustainability there. The scheme is bad, the play-calling is sub-par and there seems to be no concrete plan. But, but they rank #7 in scoring(or whatever it is) but the naked eye test tells me they stink as well.
Is Romo the problem? I don't think so but perhaps. Whether he is or not, he will be here the next 2 or 3 years, just like Jerry as our beloved GM. So, how do you try and fix the offense? You fire Garrett and his scheme.
This organization seems to have no plan. Jerry hires and fires coaches before or after the HC is named. He is a plug-and-play guy who goes with the wind. I would not be surprised if he guaranteed Marinelli the DC when Kiffin leaves, no matter the results. Garrett may or may not have been in on this conversation.
Garrett might go on to be a good coach somewhere else but it is clear to me that he, his scheme and Romo do not mesh. Romo isn't going anywhere so that leaves one man, Jason.
It is time to clean the coaching house and bring in new blood who have never been associated with Dallas. This might be our only chance and I am tired of mediocrity, either completely suck or make a run but this purgatory is killing me
