The last time a receiver had 100 yards against the Cowboys was...

...that Sunday night stinker against the Giants (Per DMN). Our pass defense is much stauncher now. Our secondary is playing with much more confidence. Come on Jenkins, get another pick 6 six against that autograph writing, wall defacing punk.

I agree I think the secondary has grown as the season has gone on. Also remember it was Scandrick starting vs the Giants with Jenkins coming off the bench since then Jenkins has played very well as the starting CB

Not only did we give up ONE hundred yard receiver, we gave up TWO.

And if I recall correctly, both had 10+ catches.

Unacceptable. It will not happen again.

My preseason prediction of NY missing the playoffs was based on Eli not having any receivers to throw to (and not the quality of backs and TE's that we have)

I'm sticking by my prediction.

We should devise some sort of bracket coverage for Steve Smith, especially when he's in the slot on 3rd downs. Our secondary overall has improved but i still dont think Scandrick can stick with him. We need to find a way to take away Eli's favorite target, again especially on 3rd downs.

It was newman the giants went after. Scandrick missed some tackles early that turned into big plays, but Newman was awful against the giants.

and we tried playing inside-outside coverage with scandrick and hamlin and hamlin got beat twice doing it. He guessed wrong and it was a huge play in the game on the first play after the romo int in the third quarter. Hamlin had the inside and he thought the wr was going across and he ended up running right through the double team. He left scandrick in no mans land.

According to Pro Football Focus (which I know isn't 100 percent accurate), Newman allowed five catches for 77 yards in that game, and Scandrick allowed 10 catches for 144 yards. Jenkins played about two-third of the snaps and allowed four catches for 42 yards.

They had Scandrick targeted 13 times in that game, with Newman and Jenkins targeted six times each.

yeah by the end it ended up like that, but they came out going right after newman.

and if you watch the game you will see the giants made a bunch of yards on missed tackles of quick short passes on scandrick.

plus you throw in the deep bomb they hit on scandrick, even though he did his job correctly and hamlin was the one caught guessing inside and getting beat over the top. Add it up and scandrick will have given up the bigger numbers.

Our D has really improved since that week 2 game. This last month or so it seems they are really playing playoff football. I don't think the G-men have enough firepower to really dent it like they did last time. Our DB's need to add to their INT totals Sunday also.

well I think they do. They are a good offense and can score points. They have scored 17 more than we have so far this year.

I just dont think our secondary could play worse, blown coverages, penalties on third downs etc...

I cant see our defense not playing great. I am thinking something similar to 07, we heard about their defense for a week and when the game was over it was our defense that won the game.

Our CBs will dominate them this week, especially Newman and Jenkins.

They will get their revenge.

Please, please, please throw the ball at Newman.

Newman is 1-0 in revenge games this year.

What happened to DeSean Jackson? Where did he go?

Manning will pay this week

The key is, and always is, getting to Eli Manning. I think he's a terrible quarterback, but if he's allowed to sit there and pick the D apart, he's capable of it. The Giants WRs aren't the most explosive, but they are solid route runners and catch the ball.

What Eli usually does is just quick release type stuff and it always kills us. I hope Wade does something to defend that.

The quality of our secondary will be directly proportional to our ability to rush the passer. Consistent pass rush makes every secondary better. Without QB pressure, a secondary full of Deion Sanders' will be consistently beaten. Just the way the pro game is.

I have an idea. After he makes a catch over the middle, have Sensabaugh deliver a hit to remember, for Smith and for the fans, just enough to take Mr. favorite target out of the game, send a message, and have all of their receivers thinking twice about going after the ball again.

Yeah, that would make my day.
