We're so far removed from that though. Thankfully he was a 1st round pick and we have the ability to 5th option him. That's 4 years from now.

Andrew Thomas is a damn good player though. I don't know if he deserves the deal but he deserves to be one of the top paid.
Imagine what he will be asking come contract renewal time. Seems like 2 or 3 years makes a huge difference when it comes to the NFL and salaries.

Well I mean first he has to actually play left tackle lol. Right now he's our left guard I'm assuming. But yeah if he gets left tackle money it gonna be huge in 4 years but so will the salary cap.

As long as I don't have to pay him it's all good. I hope Tyler gets a bundle.
Yeah….and Ceedee gets a bundle, and Parsons gets a bundle, and Zack Martin gets ANOTHER bundle

so glad that pesky salary cap is gone and contracts aren’t an issue anymore.

a world where hard, we’ll thought out business decisions no longer have to be made…Utopia

This board is going to meltdown when Terence Steele gets close to $20m.
Not me…..now that they get paid with Monopoly money and no big contract effects another players contract I say “ pay all of our players the highest in the league”

was wondering what it would feel like to speak about this business situation from the viewpoint of a child and virtue signal that I take the players side in every situation

Whatta ya got?

but seriously, I was merely stating that every player can’t break the bank because of a little thing called the salary cap…….Stephen Jones can fill you out on how that works

"Close to $20m" wouldn't be breaking the bank, is the point. $18m wouldn't even crack the top-10 tackle contracts.

Tell that to CeeDee and Parsons when they want top money too

Parsons will demand #1 and Ceedee top 10……and what about Daks upcoming 26 Million dollar cap hit?

the teams budget was configured using Martins 2023 salary cap hit of 11 Million and now he wants out of that…….that’s why the adults have to access these things with their brains and not their hearts.

Idk what CD and Parsons have to do with anything?

Dak has a $59m cap hit next year. That'll be cut in half, at least, when he gets an extension.

It's not like Dallas is in cap trouble, I don't know what you're talking about.

Wow! Some scary numbers there.

This is why it's so important to hit on those high draft picks. A team "wins" the cap game by saving money via lower priced players on rookie deals.

It seems like the big problem that is bothering you is that the team has been drafting far too well. Top players get paid top money. The way not have a lot of players to pay is to miss on more draft picks.
