The Left Tackle

If a team puts its best pass-blocking tackle on the left side, why don't opponents (those who have a pass rushing threat thats head and shoulders above the others) line up their best pass rusher on the opposite side against the right tackle more frequently?

Because then they are likely to have the tightend on that side of the field too who has the ability to assist the right tackle.

MOre teams are moving their best sack artist around now- but for a long time they didn't. Looking back on it, its hard to beleive it was not done more sooner.

There's a guy lined up over there more often than not called a Tight End. That means more double teams.

Though now you can move the top rusher to the other side away from the TE if you want to. The D always gets the last move.
