Anybody else watch the first segment of HBO's new series? What are your thoughts?

It was good, enough weirdness and questions to keep me going and give it a chance.

I thought it was interesting.

I will watch it for another week or 2 and see how it progresses.

It got my attention just enough for me to want to see more. I want to know what is going on with the cult that wears white. They are kinda creepy.

I think I had it set to DVR. I'll check this weekend.

I'm still not sure if I liked it or not, it is different enough for me to watch a couple more episodes to give it a fair chance at least

I was very disappointed. The previews looked very good and I was hoping to fill the void that True Detective left when it ended but I don't think i will even watch the next episode.

I read that it is based on a book that never resolves what actually happened to the people that disappeared. That and the fact that the characters really didn't interest me makes me think that I could probably do something better with my Sunday nights until football season starts.

I don't really know if the characters interest me or not. It is just too soon to tell. I read an article that said the entire book would be covered in this first season. After that, it is breaking new ground because there was only one book. From my understanding, the show deals more with how civilization starts breaking down. I will give it a chance due to HBO's track record with their series. It would shock me if it ever gets to the level of True Detective. That would be all but impossible IMO.
