This call was pretty pivotal in the game. I was at the game and forgot to set my DVR at home. In the post-game show, I heard Avezanno mention that it was a questionable call. This crew has called the most penalties in the NFL so far this year, and while Davis has been terrible at times, I wondered if it was replayed on TV and if it was a blatant holding or not.

I thought Bigg had his jersey for a second then let go in time, but the official called it holding.

It was pretty ticky tacky and certainly questionable considering the circumstances IMHO

It was definitely questionable.

I thought he held but it was outside the endzone.

it was a clear penalty in the endzone...and a safety

Well that settles it.

He held. It looked to me like the hold took place on the 1 yard line, but the call was what it was. Good teams keep fighting and overcome that stuff, and we did just that.

If anything, Detroit's punter and ST gunner need to be given insane props, because the two of them had a huge positive impact on the game for Detroit.

He held him but I thought it was inside the shoulder pads which is not usually called.

Isn't it where the QB is and not where the holding took place. Maybe I am wrong.

if you want to see a real hold watch the Jets flat out tackle a blitzer at Sanchez' feet on the game winning TD pass against the Texans.

It is where the foul occurs, not where the QB is.

It was a typical block but Suh was able to get past Davis and make it a hold. It wasn't an awful play by Davis on a stud blocker but it was a legit call imho.

Holding is a judgement call and just about any block outside of a whiff can get called. I guess I'd think that something so significant that causes a safety and change of possession would demand a little higher standard in order to get called, but Detroit did a great job of pinning the Cowboys deep all day, and that's to their credit. If not for McCann, I don't know that the Cowboys would have won that game. Looked like they were starting to give up when that happened and put them back in the game.
