The Lions are apparently holding out for a fourth-round pick for Joey Harrington.

Detroit can be patient because there are more openings out there than quality quarterbacks. If they have to take a sixth-round pick closer to the draft, so be it.

Scout.com reports that the Chiefs are expected to make a late push for Joey Harrington.

Kansas City's interest in Harrington has been long rumored. We'll see if this story has legs, but Kansas City has the picks and the need to acquire Harrington.

They were supposed to be interested in TO also. We saw how that turned out.

Ah, yes this silly argument again: why send a draft pick if you can get the guy for free later.

The math is simple: only one team gets the player. He doesn't go to two teams or three or seven. Only one. If one team wants him and knows that others do as well, then they can assure themselves of the player by trading for him. Then they have him. If he gets cut and goes to another team they have nothing.

Why do people always make this simplistic "get him for free" argument? Think!

That only works when there's a definitive deadline where every know FOR SURE that he's being cut like TO.

 let me see...
because you still have to redo his deal? sorta like we did with TO? why waste a draft pick when the guy will be available?

Oh no ... I can see JJ shacked to his chair muttering, "Joey, Joey ... must trade for Joey!!!".

Hey, a 4th would be a great deal for Joey Harrington, considering JJ gave up a 3rd for Hensen and a 3rd for McKnight.

Hey, if some player is gonna get released anyway, why not trade for him???

:bang2:
