The Lions

Bump and run. Throw that guy off his routes and try to get away with incidental contact.

He is indeed a beast.

Put Beuhler on him?

I would say hold him to 100 yards and a TD. That would be good enough.

I'm not sure I know who is best suited to cover him? For a receiver of his caliber, what is the best scheme to take him out of his game?

How are we going to guard Calvin Johnson? Dude is a beast.

Bringing heat on Stafford. Detroit's OLine is suspect, we should be able to tee off this week.

Short answer: Heavy dose of blitzing Stafford coupled with Jenkins/Sensy or Newman Sensy combo.

Make him beat the double team, he is a monster and has to be accounted for.

Anyone hurt? Or just subpar players?

I hear all this noise about Detroit's defense but the reality our Defense is the one that is bringing it. Stafford and the Lions are in for a beating.

FYI, Jared Allen was destroying that Lions OLine (of course many of you think he is better than Ware).

This team scares me, especially with the situation our QB is dealing with. We could win this game but this team could still end Romo's season. Our OL needs to get their stuff together here. We have had issues handling strong interior defensive players and they don't come any stronger then Ndamukong Suh.

We better have a much better plan for Detroit on the OL then we did for Washington.

I did a quick look and saw that he is 21 overall in receiving. 6 TDs has me nervous, but as far as yards go, he is high-to-middle of the road. So I agree that our pass rush will be key. Who is the better blitzer, Elam, Jenkins, Sensi?

Ex-Cowboy Stephen Peterman is still their starting guard. :laugh2:

Though he is much improved from when he was wasting space on the Cowboys roster.

I worry more about our offensive line than the Lions offense vs our defense. They will probably score some, but it's Romo I'm worried about. The Lions defensive front is nasty.

Doggone right, this game has me nervous too. I guess I'm asking all these questions to make myself feel better. :laugh2:

Subpar. They have a revolving door at RT with Gosder Cherilus and Lions fans will argue Jeff Backus at LT is serviceable but he is horrid IMO. Jared Allen had 3 of Minnesota's 5 team sacks last week and was in on countless other pressures, Ware and Spencer should have a field day off the edge.

Agree. However, am somewhat surprised the Lions are 21 against the rush with their front 7.

Well FWIW there is talk that Nick Fairley will be making his debut against us, so he'll probably bolster their run D.

doubt it. Fat and out of shape is more likely.

Do the best you can and keep heavy, consistent, pressure on Stafford. It's really the only way. You've got to slow him down because you simply can't stop him entirely.

We'll find out this week against Detroit how good our defense is because we're finally going up against a far better quarterback than what we've faced the first three weeks, and Dallas better protect alot better this week because Detroits defensive line is very disruptive....
