The List~ Happy Independence Day!

Great post, CajunCowboy. Regardless of personal opinion, no American should ever forget the sacrifice of our men and women in the armed forces. Happy Independence Day everyone.

I couldn't find an emoticon that saluted so this was the best I could do...

:thankyou: :pray: :yourock: :worthy2: :clap2: :cheers: :clap: :bravo: :toast: :thumbup:

Thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has ever served in any of our armed forces. I may not agree on the wars that are being fought, but I will always respect appreciate what the armed forces do for this great country. So once again thank you for making this country so great ... and FREE!

If anyone on this sight is a veteran, then I thank you. :clap2:Also, if anyone has any relatives that are veterans, I thank them as well as the rest of our armed forces past and present.

I echo everything that has been said so far, thank you for severing our great country with honor and pride!!

While I certainly appriciate all the sentimants for active Servicemen and Vetrans, I would just like to say Happy Independance Day to all Americans. This day belongs to all of us.

There is a quote I try to keep mindful of.

"You will never know what it has cost my generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it."

John Quincy Adams

Please have a great day, everyone.

Hats off!

Along the street there comes
A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums,
A flash of color beneath the sky:
Hats off!
The flag is passing by!

Blue and crimson and white it shines,
Over the steel-tipped, ordered lines.
Hats off!
The colors before us fly;
But more than the flag is passing by.

Sea-fights and land-fights, grim and great,
Fought to make and to save the State:
Weary marches and sinking ships;
Cheers of victory on dying lips;

Days of plenty and years of peace;
March of a strong land's swift increase;
Equal justice, right, and law,
Stately honor and reverend awe;

Sign of a nation, great and strong
Toward her people from foreign wrong:
Pride and glory and honor,--all
Live in the colours to stand or fall.

Hats off!
Along the street there comes
A blare of bugles, a ruffle of drums;
And loyal hearts are beating high:
Hats off!
The Flag is passing by!

May the sun in his course visit no land more free, more happy, more lovely, than this our own country!

Happy Birthday, America.
