Was thinking about this tonight. A lot of current NFL Head Coaches have roots to Dallas and the Cowboys.

1. Wade Phillips, current HC
2. Sean Peyton, Saints, former OC
3. Chan Gailey, Bills, former HC
4. Tony Sparano, Dolphins, former OC & Assistant HC
5. Todd Haley, Chiefs, former WR coach
6. Jack Del Rio, Jaguars, former LB
7. Norv Turner, Chargers, former OC

Sparano and Norv were interviewed for the job Wade now has, and I think haley was too. Not only this but 2 other current HCs in the NFL were interviewed by Jerry besides Wade and Norv for the job Wade now has.

1. Mike Singletary, 49ers
2. Jim Caldwell, Colts

On top of this Jason Garrett could be next and at some point so might Todd Bowles.

To do a fair analysis you have to flip it around with a reciprocal survey.

- Wade has been with 7 teams before he came here.
- Hudson Houck was with the Rams and Seahawks before his first Cowboy stint and also served with the Chargers and Dolphins
- Ray Sherman has served with 9 teams before he came to Dallas
- Peete spent 9 years with the Raiders before Dallas
- Pasqualoni has also been with Miami
- DeCamillas previously coached with Broncos, Giants, Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars.
- Maxie comes to us via the Dolphins
-John Garrett coached first for Cinci. Dallas is his third pro team.
- Garrett began his coaching career in Miami.

The only "homegrown" coach?
-Campo came with Jimmy from Miami, though he had his stint with the Jags

The 1989-90 coaching staff featured 4 future NFL head coaches. Dave Campo, Butch Davis, Dave Shula, and Dave Wannstedt. A bunch of guys named "Dave."

I would tend to call Jimmy and Barry homegrown, because they had no previous NFL experience.

Pasqualoni's first NFL stop was Dallas, then he went to Miami and came back.

You're nitpicking a bit. One could make the same claim with nearly every NFL team in regards to their coaches. Hos is pointing out how many are connected or touched by the Cowboys, not how many were 'grown' here. And blaming it on Jerry is ludicrous.

Besides, a lot of these guys were so so and made their name in Dallas before they went on to wherre they are now. Payton and Sparano are the prime examples.

Yeah, but the media only talks about the coaching trees/roots affiliated with Bill Walsh, Mike Holmgren, and Bill Belichick.
