As much as I love Thanksgiving and gettign to watch teh Cowboys play on that favorite day, I gotta tell you, the 10 days we have to wait after that game is always the longest 10 days of the year for me.

It's even worse when you're this excited about a team. You're like a horse chomping at the bit, you just want to peel your ears back and run like the wind is behind you.

This year's 10 longest days seem especially long. I don't know why that is. It has to have something to do with how well this team started playing right before this mini break.

So let's talk about that for a minute. You all know how hard I focus on the QB position. In my opinion it always starts right there. Look at how well the offense has responded to the changing of the guard at QB. Can there ever be any doubt again just how important it is to have a good QB behind Center?

Now, I'm not calling Bledsoe a scrub. That privilege belongs to Zaxor, LaTunaNostra, and MichaelWinicki. The fact remains the job he was doing simply wasn't good enough. The job he was doing in comparison to the job Tony Romo is doing isn't even in the same stratosphere.

Flat out, Tony Romo is playing lights out. Forgive the irony, but he's in the Zone. The entire offense has responded in kind.

The offensive line has blocked better. Makes you think they're the most excited about this change.

Late in the game we've run the ball better. We're wearing defenses down chasing Julius Jones and then hammering them with Marion Barber as the battering ram.

Every receiver is not only getting the ball, they're doing somethign with it once they have it. They're breaking tackles and moving the chains, and most of all they are getting in the endzone.

As almost a simultaneous genesis the defense hit it's stride at almost the same time as the arrival of Romo at QB. It's like they've challenged themselves to be just as vibrant and vital as the offense. The good news is they have been.

Roy Williams is making big plays again. Look for him to deliver some bone jarring hits today. He seems to build towards games like that. He'll have several games with hard tackles and then here comes the game with the big hits. It's like anticipation of sex for him. Today he will nto be celibate. Plaxico Burress ran his mouth. Jeremey Shockey ran his mouth. The bad news for those guys is that he is not deaf.

Anyone besides me notice how since the Cardinals game we're getting more and more pressure on the QB? DeMarcus Ware in particular, but Jay Ratliff just continues to make the most of his opportunites and Jason Hatcher is already hard to deal with. Another player making big plays is Kevin Burnett. The front 7 could have folded with the loss of Greg Ellis, they not only haven't folded several guys have stepped up their game. They knew they had to and they've responded.

Throughout our history the Cowboys have generally done well the game after Thanksgiving. The 10 days to heal and prepare usually makes a difference. But damn that's the longest 10 days of the year.

Enjoy the game.

I've sometimes thought that this is a lesson Parcells needed to learn (he's been misfortunate in running too many teams for which the QB was not the leader, and fortunate in getting way with it). Here's hoping that Romo is teaching it to him.

The black cloud is gone and there's a rainbow in it's place.

Bledsoe lulled this team to sleep and Romo has perked it up. Bledsoe bored the team, Romo excites them. They played drearily with Drew in but Romo has made them enthusiastic and they play better that way.

All season long I have been calling for some enthusiasm from the team; finally, they have it.

As long as they playing their best and with spirit, I'm happy.

With all the media attention focused on the Gmen, I thought watching that meltdown made the 10 days to by fairly quickly.

I expect the last 10 days will seem like a millisecond by comparison with the next seven if the 'Boys don't take care of business today.

Hey, Hos...I remember you telling me on the phone that you thought putting in Romo was a bad idea. Aren't you glad you were so dead wrong? :D

Its long sitting through the "second bye week" but watching all the other NFC teams beat up on each other was a great treat.

The only part of the "Longest Ten Days" I enjoy is the Sunday after the Thanksgiving Day Win.

I find that Sunday to be just a "feel good day". I luv the satisfaction of watching our division opponents trying to keep pace and the feeling of total relaxation as I watch the other NFL games.

After that Sunday the agony begins to set in with our next game being a life time away. The anticipation is a killer. ;)

I think this has less to do with Ware playing better and more to do with Parcells finally telling his defensive players to attack the quarterback rather than contain.

For most of the season, we played containment on at least half the defensive plays where the end (or LB in some cases) was told to contain and fill the outside lanes.

It seems that since Arizona, Parcells has realized this team has the ability to constantly get to the quaterback.

Remember, when we played the Eagles we seemed to always be late which I'm sure put him into his conservative mode on defense. It's the same exact situation as not trying to block punts. If the odds are low you're going to get to the ball, logic says contain and cover.

It's also just like when teams blitz a lot. If your blitz is constantly getting there late, you're going to get burned. However, if your blitz gets there almost every time at least to hit or pressure the quarterback, you keep on doing it.

I also think that's why our turnover rates have increased. By turning the defense loose, we will give up more first downs on third down but it makes the quarterback get happy feet which leads to mistakes.
