The main reason Rob Ryan isn't getting a HC offer

He can't figure out how to cover the short middle and flats during blitzes. Same problem we've had for years. Every time we blitz the QB has some place to go with the ball and very rarely has to eat it. We never laid a hand on Eli and the week prior, although we got to Kolb, we made him look like a HOF'er.
Watch a lot of other teams bring the house blitzes and they usually A) get the QB because they B) take away the short, quick stuff.

I was a fan of the hiring at the time and it seemed like he injected some life early in the season but whatever magic was there is long gone and opposing teams figured him out. I don't see a lot of heart or fire anymore in our personnel. Ryan also now seems like a one-trick pony, blitz every play and watch the other team march down the field. We have pretty decent D personnel, if the D finishes the year like they are trending now, I'm gonna go ahead a say it...Ryan needs fired.

Ryan is not getting a HC offer because he freaking blows. If Garrett has any balls left he would tell tubby to hit the road tommorow morning.

I've never seen a guy keep blitzing after it has failed badly. Once its not working you have to go away from it.

Who said Wade Phillups is clueless? He has the #2 ranked defense in the entire NFL and just won a division title today.

Im sure you were saying the same things about Wade's ability to coordinate a defense when he was here and we were getting beat repeatedly.

I have no problem with blitzing.

I'd rather go do making an effort than just sit back and watch these corners get abused play after play.

If Eli had plenty of time in the face of a blitz, he could have written a thesis back there without a blitz. Ware IS the Dallas pass rush. If he's not doing it, nobody else can be relied upon to do it.

So Dallas doesn't blitz, Eli has all day and these lockdown corners Dallas has force him to throw it away?

Who believes that?

Dallas would have sat back and Eli would have passed on them just the same, if not more. No corner can cover for an eternity, not even the good ones, let alone a bunch of guys who's play fluctuates from above average, at best, to downright putrid at worst.

When you have to take your #1/#2 (depending on the week, I guess) and have him man up on the other team's #3 WR and he still can't get the job done, you got problems.

If it weren't for butter fingers, Newman would have had one of the worst plays of the year in terms of covering a guy. Literally just outmatched on that play like LSU versus a local JV team.

Slightly inflated by the offenses he has faced but still deserves credit.

They'd probably be ranked really high if they weren't in that division but the fact that their division is so horrid at scoring really helps them out.

If you look at offensive scoring right now, 12 of their games this year will be against teams with a scoring rank of 16th or worse, 9 games will be against teams with scoring ranks of 22nd or worse and 5 games will come against the bottom 4 scoring teams in the NFL.

The only offenses they has played include New Orleans, who hung 40 on them and Balitmore who went for 29.

Everyone else is ranked outside of the top 10 with only 1 other team (ATL 10 points) thus far (they play carolina this week) coming against a team that is in the top 15.

Dallas thus far played 4 of the top 7 scoring teams and 6 of the top 15 scoring teams.

Looking at rankings right now and the schedule, that's gonna mean Dallas plays 5 games against teams with top 7 scoring offenses and 6 games against teams in the top 15. Of course, Dallas has played some of the worst as well but Houstons opponent rankings are heavily skewed toward the *** end.

But like I said, he deserves credit. You only play who's in front of you and he's done what he is supposed to do in beating the hell out of lesser teams. Wish Dallas could say the same.

That team reminds me a lot of the 2003 Cowboys. Good defense and a favorable schedule.

You give me the chance to go back and get another coach for the time Wade was here and he can have those division titles and 1 playoff win.

Keep em. He left the team infinitely worse than when he arrived. Without a doubt, all that noise they made in 2007 and the run in 2009 ended up being just a few of the bright spots in an otherwise wasted period of time.

Seriously though, i'm well aware of what he did here. That doesn't change the fact that if i went back and looked im sure i could find posts of yours last year saying negative things about Wade and his coaching ability.
