Am I the only one who is getting tired of seeing both of these guys not get intentional grounding calls ever? Kept Eli and his offense on the field twice that I remember last night. It's getting irritating

Eli gets more favored calls than any other QB.
The Giants get more favored calls than any other team.
Steelers, Patriots right up there too.

I am actually extremely surprised at the refs last night, after some horrible calls / non calls favoring the Giants, they actually got a few right that did not go against us.

I was more upset about that no call than any other Ref snafus last night. My frustration was more about Eli's immediate influence on the ref to hold the flag by immediately pointing to the TE who's back was turned blocking while the throw (a grounder about 10 feet away from the feet of the TE). Even Michaels was beside himself. Yes the Manning's definitely have influence.

True that. They picked up the roughing on Church and that was unheard of since now Bekham is the 2nd coming. LOL the ref called it a "flop"

Who cares? The Cowboys swept the Giants, and hopefully they can have Peyton Manning throw an intentional grounding against them this year.

What's the rule exactly? I mean, I know he was engaged in blocking....but he is an eligible receiver.

Intentional Grounding of Forward Pass
  1. Intentional grounding of a forward pass is a foul: loss of down and 10 yards from previous spot if passer is in the field of play or loss of down at the spot of the foul if it occurs more than 10 yards behind the line or safety if passer is in his own end zone when ball is released.
  2. Intentional grounding will be called when a passer, facing an imminent loss of yardage due to pressure from the defense, throws a forward pass without a realistic chance of completion.

Just go this from the NFL website. Interesting the verbiage.

In that case i would say it was grounding - there is no way that guy could have caught the ball it was 4 or 5 yards behind him and he was facing the opposite direction

They didn't call intentional grounding on Eli last weekend when he through the ball backwards over his head and no one was close to the area. If they don't call it on that play why would they bother calling it on a normal pass play. Plus I think the refs realize that most times Eli isn't trying to avoid getting sacked and is just that inaccurate of a passer.

One TD giants had was a false start, the other TD Beckham had offensive PI, and the third TD Beatty had Mincey in a head lock.

Multiply holding calls was never called on the giants

This is an all around NFL problem. You can have a screen set up every play and if it's well defended every play you can intentionally ground it every play.

I don't mind that they can point to a tight end in the area or receiver on the same football field, but I do mind that QBs like Romo don't get the same treatment. Romo can throw a pass 30 yards downfield and get intentional grounding called even though there's a receiver who might have been in the area if he hadn't cut short his route.

I really have trouble with that kind of intentional grounding being called because the refs have to judge the intent of the receivers. Behind the line of scrimmage it's pretty clear if there's a receiver around or not.

The only trouble I have on the Beckham bomb was the officials calling a penalty on Carr. If you're going to call that one, then you also need to call Beckham throwing Carr to the ground on the play. The only other choice is a no-call and just let them fight it out.
