The youngster from Dallas, Jordan Spieth is putting together a very nice round.

I wasn't watching, but now I'm tuned in to see if Spieth can win.

#8 did Speith in, bad drive left, really bad 3 wood right, bad chip, bad putt = 2 shot swing, just can't bogey a par 5 against Bubba, that lead to the 2 shot swing on 9 and then trying to win the tourney at 12, never a good idea. I thought # 8 got in his head. 20 years old in his first Masters was still impressive.

I don't think anybody is the next Tiger.
I was about to say the exact same thing. Let's have a guy do more than have 2 good rounds at Augusta before we anoint him among the greatest of all time.

I think he's on the same trajectory Tiger was at the beginning and that's a valid thing to say. Whether he keeps it up is up to him. He has the game to do it. But at 20 a lot of life can get in the way if he allows it. It's tough to live golf every day. You have to be obsessed with it.

Chances are more likely that he joins the half dozen or so other guys who have been "the next Tiger" and never comes close to being as dominant.

No Tiger, no watch.

Apparently the rest of the nation agrees - lowest rated Masters in 10 years.

Other than a lack of dominant players to watch, there are very few personalities in golf. One of the reason Tiger has always been so fun to watch is not only that he's so good, but he had personality on the course, like him or not.

Now you've got just Ricky Fowler and Jason Dufner who are unique at all and they aren't always competitive in big events. Beyond that, everyone else is pretty much the same and pretty generic. That's a bigger problem than Tiger not being at the top of his game.

Who is fun to watch nowadays? Rory? Matt Kuchar? Adam Scott? Jim Furyk? lol

I don't mind any of those guys really, but golf badly needs an infusion of not only new talent, but new personalities to bring ratings back. The PGA can only ride Tiger for so long.

Part of that is what makes baseball kind of boring as well. All of these old guard/old world "rules". It's why I think Yasiel Puig (if he can show up on time, lol) is one of the best things to happen to the MLB in the last 20 years. The game needs more fun and personality. I'm not saying we need guys high-stepping like Deion during home run trots, but it can be boring if you're not a sports junkie or baseball nut.

I see the same thing with golf. For all the criticism Tiger got for cursing, spitting, etc., he's electrifying and fun to watch. He makes golf interesting and makes it actually look like its fun, and its not just a bunch of fat guys swinging a club at a ball.

Ricky Fowler is only interesting because of his loud outfits. Dufner is LOL.

Completely agree.

I think Fowler is interesting beyond that, and was debating whether he should pursue golf or motocross when he was younger. Whether the loud outfits get him noticed or not, at least he's being an individual and that's refreshing I think.

Dufner kind of reminds me of John Daly to be honest, which I like lol

Good Masters, I was really pulling for Jordan Spieth and while the bogie on 8 and 9 hurt to me the end was the bogie on 12 when he ended up in the water. Kid is going to be special, I have no doubts about that. Was happy for Bubba Watson on his 2nd green jacket.

I honestly don't know enough about Fowler aside from his outfits, but that makes sense. He looks like more of a Travis Pastrana X-Games guy lol.

Hopefully Dufner isn't out there playing while hammered haha.
